Re: Rival thread
They're rebuilding for the future after selling the player they built the team around. If we sold Suarez we would of been in the same boat. They bought talent, and they haven't settled just yet. Most of them are young. It will work for them eventually, and they're keeping up with their contenders despite playing poorly so they're doing okay.iftikhar wrote:Every match Spurs line-up has 4-5 may be even more players who have been with the club for around a year or so. It's barely the chemistry for a successful team.
They have lost THE PLAYER who virtually carried them for last 2 seasons if not more.
Finally, their strike force is just awesome (slightly better than Everton) and it's having it's effects.
They have no finishers in that squad, play a slow tempo, and can't finish any chances they create. We should go there and play for the 3 points, none of this play for the draw rubbish. We can't afford any to lose any points. We must be playing to get 3 points from every game. We won't get them obviously, but that's what we should be aiming from every game we play.
But again, we have Everton before them. And I could be wrong (not looking at the fixture list) but we have Hull before them too don't we? Take one game at a time.
Spurs could beat City which could kick on their season. It's far too early to talk about the LFC-Spurs game.

Re: Rival thread
I still stand with the opinion that if we need to build on the performance there are some specific fixtures where we can points from. And spurs are surely one of them, I watched the newcastle game later, where they actully scord a goal, for which the chance was created from the high pressing they did and they lost ball in the midfield and Remy went on to score the goal.
Spurs are still in transition phase so this is the time because I am not sure how the game at anfield will unfold by that time who knows they will be in a completely different mould. Till now the only big team we played at anfield was ManUtd so we really dont know. ffffs we are talking so much about spurs game lets see what do we do before that game

Christian Eriksen's ankle injury puts him out for six weeks, He'll miss the Tottenham vs Liverpool fixture at WHL on 15th Dec.

Re: Rival thread
Now that i have calmed down, I noticed we are still 2nd and can only fall at-most to third place this gameweek, Pleased with the late Sturridge goal getting us the point atleast 1 if not 3. No way can we compete Arsenal for the title, It seems like there is very less stopping them.
Chelsea level on points and GD now, Hoping for a upset tomorrow and a draw in the City Spurs game.

I wouldn't base our fortunes on how bad the spuds are playing, although city are looking really good, were going to need to shutdown aguero.

5-0 57 minutes, hopefully it ends up 7 or 8, just to demoralise them spuds.

Re: Rival thread
I can't decide whether to be delighted that Tottenham are even behind Newcastle now or disappointed that City are climbing the table in convincing fashion
Anyway, here's hoping Cardiff - who were excellent at home last season in the Championship - get a result against the red side of Manchester a bit later today...

Cardiff v Arsenal 15:00
Everton v Stoke 15:00
Norwich v Crystal Palace 15:00
West Ham v Fulham 15:00
Newcastle v West Brom 17:30
Sun 1 Dec 2013 - Premier League
Tottenham v Man Utd 12:00
Hull v Liverpool 14:05
Chelsea v Southampton 16:10
Man City v Swansea 16:10

Re: Rival thread
We absolutely must get 9 points from our easier next 3 games.
It'll provide a bit of a comfort gap with those below us. I'm confident of our chances.

Re: Rival thread
It seems so tight there...I believe the 3rd and 4th position race will be more interesting than the title race. But I think the kind of football we are playing right now, seems to be apt for getting max points against these scrub teams

Re: Rival thread
It's not a must win as I explained in the "Next 6 games thread". But yes now it is a winnable game. Spurs don't look at all like the team people expected them to be so I think we have a very good chance.HEIL MEIN REDS wrote:must win gameExtremistEnigma wrote:What do you guys feel about our away game at WHL now?

I see us going 4-1-1 in our next 6 games.Natalie Portman wrote:We absolutely must get 9 points from our easier next 3 games.

As long as we're competitive against City at Etihad, I'll be happy. But can't see us getting 3 points there, in fact I can't see us even getting a point.
We honestly don't know which Spurs will turn up, and I think people are underrating them to the extreme. They're having a very similar season to us when we had Dalglish, they generally do okay, they just can't get the ball in the back of the net. The game against City is equivalent to our 4-0 loss at WHL.
The other games I can't see us losing to be honest. But we need to fix our away record. We've been horrible (not City horrible but not the required results we need for CL) on the road.

Another matchday, another set of scalps for Sotton and Newcastle. Hull looking like the only real shock result so far.
