Suddenly the points dropped in the Newcastle and Southampton aren't looking so absurd, are they? Yes we played up a man on Newcastle and yes, in both cases picking up the three points would have helped us immensely... but they're hardly the cataclysmic events against clubs no true "top side" would experience that they were at the time made out to be.

On the other hand... we should have gotten more out of that Swansea match.

Perspective.

Sorry boys, forgot to add the blue half of merseyside also didn't pick up all 3 points.

Whats everyone hoping for now, after united grabbing a goal, i'm torn i dunno what result i'm looking for.

I get what your saying red, but i'm going to disagree with the Newcastle game, 10 men for 1 half, we should of won that no questions asked.

Next gameweek:-

Sat 23 Nov 2013 - Premier League

   Everton v Liverpool 12:45
   Arsenal v Southampton 15:00

   Fulham v Swansea 15:00
   Hull v Crystal Palace 15:00
   Newcastle v Norwich 15:00
   Stoke v Sunderland 15:00
   West Ham v Chelsea 17:30

Sun 24 Nov 2013 - Premier League

   Man City v Tottenham 13:30
   Cardiff v Man Utd 16:00

Mon 25 Nov 2013 - Premier League

West Brom v Aston Villa 20:00

A win would be excellent in the merseyside derby. Could solidify second place.

What a week really...ManUtd has won today which off course i dont like, i would have preferred a draw. I have a feeling that they will pick from this game and build up on it. ManUtd need to continue their loss-draw results.

Seeing Nawcastle and WestHam win at spurs, we must get at least a point there and tbh three points can be also expected now at white heart lane.

Well, all except Sotton but then I'm not convinced they'll maintain their position into the second half of the season anyway.

Nonsense. Two off-days does not a trend nor season make. Don't underrate them based on those two results.

Spurs won't make top 4 if they play this way. That's no knee jerk either, they're really struggling to score goals. They're making the chances, they're just not taking them. 9 goals in the BPL AS A TEAM after 10 games. Suarez, Sturridge and Aguero have 8 each.

To be fair if it wasn't for Krul's amazing performance Tottenham would have scored at least two or three goals yesterday, so maybe they're getting there. Although their attacking is a bit static, I'm surprised AVB hasn't started both Soldado and Defoe yet.

Majority of the shots gave the keeper a chance/ were rather tame to save, so it comes down to poor finishing imo.

Krul really only made one decent save and that was when Tiote headed the ball after a freekick.

International games are going to be the worst. The fixtures right after are going to be intense, not just for Merseyside (the derby) but because a lot of people in the top 8 can drop points.

The same was the case with us two seasons back. Our attacks were static, predictable and we played with a slow tempo. Krul was good but the problem lied with Tottenham.

Anyways, next 5 fixtures:

Liverpool: Everton (A), Hull (A), Norwich (H), West Ham (H), Tottenham (A) (13 points, draw in the Merseyside derby and win in all the others)
Arsenal: Soton (H), Cardiff (A), Hull (H), Everton (H), Man City (A) (12 points)
Soton: Arsenal (A), Chelsea (A), Aston Villa (H), Man City (H), Newcastle (A) (6 points)
Chelsea: West Ham (A), Soton (H), Sunderland (A), Stoke (A), Crystal Palace (H) (15 points)
Everton: Liverpool (H), Stoke (H), Man Utd (A), Arsenal (A), Fulham (H) (7 points)
Man Utd: Cardiff (A), Tottenham (A), Everton (H), Newcastle (H), Aston Villa (A) (13 points)
Tottenham: Man City (A), Man Utd (H), Fulham (A), Sunderland (A), Liverpool (H) (3 points)
Man City: Tottenham (H), Swansea (H), Soton (A), Arsenal (H), Fulham (A) (10 points)

We face Tottenham the week succeeding their Europa League clash. All of their losses this season have come after Europa League games. They're qualified though, and might very well play a third string side...

The upcoming fixtures and everything is going our way. If we can't make the top 4 this season, we never can..

People are really underestimating Spurs all of the sudden and I can't help but feel that if we don't take 3 points from WHL people will be freaking out about it being the end of our season and Top 4/league chances.

They lost to the likes of West "we-are-unbelievable-shite-away-from-home" Ham and Newcastle at WHL. A lose there obviously won't affect our top 4 chances but that's the kind of mentality that's harmful in the longer run.. being satisfied with a draw when inferior sides won against them.

No, it's being realistic and understanding that their squad is as good as or better than ours and is settling and gelling at the moment, with a few bits of poor luck thrown in (something we all should be quite familiar with).

I think it doesnt happen every now and then that a loanee of us has started flourishing like that. Anyways there is a long season to go ahead so lets wait but he has certainly handled the pressure well to play with big boys.

I don't understand the insistence of footy fans* on overrating the importance of individual performances. Nothing similar exists in any other sport (at least not that I follow, and I follow a lot of sports). The NFL has a 16 game season, far shorter than the EPL, so every game matters a lot more, and I've never seen the types of overreactions from a fan base the way that I do here, either positive OR negative. A loss to West Ham or Newcastle does not mean they're a bad team, just like our draws to Swansea or 10 man Newcastle don't mean we're a bad team. They also don't mean the end of anyone's chances for anything. It's a long season, people, everyone calm down.

*It might just be GL, not all footy fans.

Every match Spurs line-up has 4-5 may be even more players who have been with the club for around a year or so. It's barely the chemistry for a successful team.

They have lost THE PLAYER who virtually carried them for last 2 seasons if not more.

Finally, their strike force is just awesome (slightly better than Everton) and it's having it's effects.
