Mourinho's Ban Reduced
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11827_7067640,00.htmlUefa have modified the five-match European ban imposed on Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho so the fourth match, as well as the fifth, is now suspended.
Mourinho was handed the initial punishment in May in relation to the ill-tempered UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona at the Bernabeu.
The Portuguese was sent to the stands during the game and made what Uefa termed "an inappropriate statement" in the post-match press conference.
Mourinho, who served the first match of the ban in the second leg against Barca, was also fined €50,000 by Uefa's control and disciplinary body.
Madrid lodged an appeal against the decision, which was heard - and partially upheld - by Uefa's appeals body on Friday.
A statement on their official website said: "Uefa's Appeals Body today partially upheld the decision taken by the Uefa Control and Disciplinary Body against Real Madrid and their head coach Jose Mourinho.
"The original judgment related to Mourinho's dismissal from the bench and the inappropriate statement made at the post-match press conference of the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in the Spanish capital on 27 April.
"After hearing the parties and looking at various pieces of evidence, the Appeals Body decided to modify the sanction.
Fine stays
"The five-match ban, with the fifth game suspended for a probationary period of three years, is changed to a five-match ban, with the fourth and fifth fixtures suspended for a probationary period of three years. The 50,000 euro fine imposed on Mourinho stays."
Uefa also announced they have rejected an appeal against the 20,000 euro fine imposed on Madrid for the "improper conduct" of their supporters during the same match.
Madrid can appeal against Friday's rulings to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Mourinho was ordered to the stands during the 2-0 semi-final first leg defeat to Pep Guardiola's side in April after showing his displeasure at the red card shown to Madrid midfielder Pepe.
In the post-match press conference Mourinho then courted controversy when he implied Barca receive favourable treatment from referees and claimed the Catalan club had yet to win a "clean" Champions League title under Guardiola.
Madrid lost the semi-final 3-1 on aggregate and Barca went on to beat Manchester United in the final.
Last season was Mourinho's first in charge of Madrid, with whom he won the Copa del Rey with victory over Barca in the final and finished second to Guardiola's side in the Primera Division.

Ha, this is actually worse for Mourinho. Probationary means you better shut up, because we always have a gun against your head.
And it's not deserved? He got exactly what anyone would expect after claiming UEFA to be corrupt and favoring Barca. UEFA can't let that stand.

Correct they can't let that stand, How dare Mourinho try to open the eyes of the people in realizing UEFA is filled with corruption and obviously favoring Barcelona

Back in the day, if you said anything against Mao Tse Tung, you got shot. Essentially this is the same thing without the killing. You can't say anything against UEFA because they're corrupt. Everything Mou said is the truth. What a world we live in eh?

Since you know it's the truth, can you prove it?The Verminator wrote:Back in the day, if you said anything against Mao Tse Tung, you got shot. Essentially this is the same thing without the killing. SOrry bruv. Nobody has any 'concrete' evidence. but things are well stacked up against them to the point where it is very safe to assume that they are corrupt

They may be corrupt but it's a bit outlandish to think they favor Barcelona, referees make mistakes, whether its for them or against them.

Re: Mourinho's Ban Reduced
Refs do make some mistakes - no doubt. Even when a call goes for Barce for a dive for e.g, it would be most likely just a ref error. But numerous times have there been major calls in Barce's favour in some pretty big matches, that other teams do not get. And it happens quite often. Therefore people believe (and they have every right to) that there is some sort of conspiracy. But i don't believe that every call in Barce's favour is part of a conspiracy, they could just be ref errors.

Re: Mourinho's Ban Reduced
Well like what? I mean the things people claim that they purposely call in favor of Barcelona for could easily go either way, like van Persie's second yellow card or Pepe's red card.

Re: Mourinho's Ban Reduced
IIRC, he also had another match suspended sentence from the red card incident, what happens to that? Its hillarious how we still got the foul for fans against Barca, I dont even remember any bad thing the fans did. And of course, Puyol ripping out our corner flag and Messi shooting at the fans, any fines for that?
LOL at any Barca fans who seriously try to tell themselves that UEFA isnt corrupt as hell.

Well 8 years back we wanted to split away from UEFA along with man united and a couple of other clubs (bayern I think) and wanted to make a superleauge. Guess who was the leader for the opposition to such a move?

What Mourinho said in the press conference, truth or not, was out of line. He was, deservedly, punished for it. There is an avenue to address these issues and none are using it.
Mourinho should put his money where his mouth is or shut up!
