I live in Spain and Canada, pretty well divide the time between the two. My kids and grandchildren live in Canada.

The Calderon years plus this year with WC. Rubiales robbed us of a legitimate opportunity.

Not any more, other than go to gym daily, occasionally crew in sail boat races, and I ski in winter months.

I was an AM a life time ago, but my prime sports were basketball, volleyball and was a competitor swimmer


What do you do for work/school?

Retired. I was a banking executive (technology) for a large international bank

You're awesome I swear to God. 70 ? You've probably seen more games then all of us combined and all of the European Cups and you're still here debating with us ? Thank you, for real. What was like back then, when we won 5 in a row ? That's a bonus question

It was great, actually much more so than current 4 out of 5 as it was a new competition, first time we could really think best in Europe or even world and there wasn’t the ‘luck’, we supposedly have had this time around. Back then, team was truly dominant.

What’s the origin of your forum name?
- Lol, when i first became a footy fan i was 15/16 in like March 2010 and Mourinho easily made an impression on me, so it comes from "The Special One" + Madrid. Since Mou was outlandish, that sort of informed my crazy antics back in the day.

How many Christmas have you seen? (how old lol)

- USA

Where are you from originally (nationality/background)?
- I'm American but my family is of Salvadoran descent. Interestingly if anything i look Croatian, a little like Kovacic.

When did you become madridista and how?
- In early 2010 i started hearing about the World Cup in south africa and since i was already a fan of several sports except football, i decided to give it a try. I became a madridista because i remember watching the 2006 world cup final and the infamous bald player (Zizou) had made an impression on me so i searched him up and i progressively learned more and more about Madrid and i liked everything about it. In the latin world it's either Madrid or Barca anyways so i'd always heard of Real Madrid.

When and why did you join the forums?
- I think Goal.com was popular back then in 2010 and i found the forums and i guess i wanted to be part of it.

Who was your guide when you first joined?
- No one, maybe Nick and Immaculate Mole somewhat, also Adnyana who sadly does not post here any longer. Remember playing Xbox and talking on mics with a lot of forum members, including Mtfootball who would input his speech through google translate's voice thing

Are you a fan of Madrid or a fan of football first?
Madrid first, but i love the sport nonetheless.

Which is your 2nd favorite club?
None. have tiny microscopic sympathy for Liverpool i guess.

Which of the CL victories is your favorite?
- La Decima because for modern fans it was what La Septima must have been for those who waited 32 years. I had only been a fan for 4 years but it felt longer because i live it intensely. It was a release. I remember throwing my chair at the ceiling when Ramos scored and running around and screaming lol.

Most tragic moment as a fan?
- When we lost the penalty shootout against Bayern in 11/12 as those two first Mourinho seasons were a story of their own.

Your 3 favorite players ever? Why?
- Modric, Zidane, Ramos. Because of the history they made, because of how well they played, because they seem like good people, and they make good leaders/captains imo, they have a special charisma to them.

Favorite Madrid manager of all time?
- Zidane i guess.

What is one signing you would make right now (if money was no option)?
- Mbappe

I play Tennis (One handed backhand) and have been thinking of signing up to play on beginner soccer leagues or whatever they're called.

- I've always had a thing for deep lying playmakers/complete central midfielders, so i'd be that sort of player, a Schweinsteiger/Modric type. This is why i had a tongue in cheek delusional liking for Illarramendi at one point, for Sahin, and now for Fede Valverde.

What do you do for work/school? - Will have my own classroom soon. Teacher.

What is your dream job? - RM manager.

How would you describe yourself? - IRL I'm a little like Kimi Raikkonen i suppose, icy/low key with a sly charisma and more wild with friends.

Can you describe what your typical day is like? - I wake up and open the news/sports sites and then i go on with my day.

Top 5 movies? - Inland Empire, Mulholland Drive, Reservoir Dogs, Toy Story, John Carpenter's The Thing, are 5 of my favorites.

Favorite actor? - Either Kyle Maclachlan or Hugh Laurie i suppose.

Favorite book? - Idk, i remember liking The Stranger, am more of an analytical article/essay person.

Favorite type of music? - Pretentious art rock/pop with Avant-Garde inclinations.

Favorite band/artist of all time? - David Bowie

Favorite song? - Tie between Bowie's "Subterraneans" and "Tis A Pity She Was a Whore," which is an opaque piece that i suspect is allegorical of his deadly relationship with drugs.

Favorite album of all time? - Don't know, too many, but i'll pick "The Pearl" by Brian Eno and Harold Budd, it is subtle minimalist piano surrounded by cold ambient atmospherics, like being inside a snow globe.

Top 5 TV shows? - Twin Peaks, House M.D., The Sopranos, Death Note, DC Animated Universe tv shows that lasted from 1992-2006.

Marvel or DC Comics? why? Hmm, i guess Marvel because i think they have superior characters/universe, but i think Batman is one of the the greatest things ever made lol

My favorite kit is a near mint condition one i found in my size online of La Novena kit from 2002. Maybe i'd like an RM kit from the 50's/60's.

Spain because i'd like to see the Bernabeu, Valdebebas, and im also a fan of various Spanish artists, athletes, culture, etc. Also Japan during a snowy winter because i'd imagine that would be beautiful and also fan of several things.

- Maybe buy a house in Switzerland, travel, donate here and there, and exotic women.

When did you become madridista and how?
I grew up playing football, and spent a lot of time at the football shop (which played a lot of Serie A and LL games) and I just fell in love with RM with the likes of Hierro, Sanchis, Roberto Carlos, Raul, and of course Seedorf (who at the time I thought was the first Dutch RM player - this was a big deal to me- but found out I was wrong) plus all the other big names you guys know. Anyway that was around 1997ish
When and why did you join the forums?
Probably around 2008 at the old Goal.com forums, because well back then Goal.com was one of the first football only news sites that aggregated all the news so it was really easy.
Who was your guide when you first joined?
I don't think I really had a guide but Shaven, Adnyana, and LeSamurai were always really nice to me when I started. I don't think any of them post anymore. And if they still lurk the forums I wish they would post every once in a while.

Pepe's red card against Barca in the CL semi final (?). It was Mou v Pep and we had lost 0-5 earlier that year. Getting eliminated was gutting.

I currently work as a research assistant and teachers aide to put myself through getting my Ph.D. in quantitative methods at the University of Texas.

My girlfriend and I just adopted a new kitten, so lots of playing with the kitten, watching TV/movies, exercising, studying, research, grading papers, currently its too hot to do anything so it is a lot of staying inside lol. When it cools down Austin is a lot more active.

I'm pretty obsessed with movies, so it was hard to cut down (also don't knock me for La La Land, that movie is great and I love Jazz): The Godfather, Psycho, La La Land, Silence of the Lambs, Forest Gump.

Well, I definitely enjoyed Sneijder, Robben, Van Nistelrooy, and VDV, but Huntelaar didn't really get enough time, and Drenthe was just awful to watch (except for that one wonder goal he scored).
