Unlucky just I mean on him personally... in terms of CR winning 5 when Messi is the better player. I know Barca as a team got knocked out time n again when they really shouldnt have, still remember most of them, at least once by Atletico who did they same for that league title win when they held us in that final league game, vs Mous Inter, Chelsea 2012... I know ppl think often he didnt perform well enough especially the latter yrs vs Roma, etc. When CR has 5 Ballon D'ors 5 CL, while Messi has 8 but only half CL wins

All these embarrassing comebacks and exits vs Roma, Liverpool etc were because the board refused to replace the mental midgets in the team, thus wasting Messi's prime years. Messi was still the best player each year but QF exit in CL made people vote for others

It also must be said that the real robbery was in 2020 when they canceled the award altogether because of covid and Lewandowski didn't get one

And since he is nowhere near as undeniable as CR7, they dont feel bad dropping him

But I'm sure there also were lots of journalists who didn't put Rodri in their top10...

These people shouldn’t be allowed to vote. At that point, they’re not just voting for who they think is the best but are actively trying to harm the chances of players they don’t like. We can disagree on who should win, but rational individuals generally agree on who the main contenders are. Not including Rodri or Vinicius in the top 8 should disqualify someone from the voting process ( I know this can't be enforced)

yes that's dumb. We're asking journalists to be good at their jobs and try to be objective, you know the goal of the actual profession they do for a living. They should strive for the least amount of bias while voting. This whole attitude thing is dumb and a cop out. You're acting like vini physically beats up his opponents on a daily basis
