Ballon D'or 2024

Just saw the award will be on 28th Oct, which seems to be a pretty weird date. The new format is done by UEFA n supposed to count the season '23-'24 n including the recent NT tourneys, but not the new upcoming season? I cant find info on details of the voting, so who n when is the deadline... since from experience, recent events definitely affects it.

Current odds seems to be led by Vini, then not far behind is now Rodri, then some distance off is Bellingham, n then likes of Messi, Yamal n some Real players

Rodri probably deserves it but I don't think he'll get it. He's not even getting the media hype that Jorginho got 3 years ago.

Going from Messi/CR to this crew feels like such a downgrade.

Lol I think this has shown just how biased everyone here is N why them captains in the past voted for their friends instead of the deserving

Definitely quite interesting this time, feels like the real first one post Messi/CR n add the two tourneys in the mix

Not that impressed by Bellingham tbh

Would give it to Rodri but i think Vinicius will get it

I feel Vini will get it, but personally I would rank him 3rd.

The fact that brazil didn't win copa bc vini didn't play is more of a reason why he should win lol

I am happy as long as the Bellingham, the media fraud does not get it. I believe Vini deserve it the most. Rodri seems to be the Jorginho version when Messi won even though Rodri is getting slightly higher pole position than him ex being first in Goal power ranking, Jorginho was second.

Rodri has same seasonal performance rating as Vicinius in league, cl and Euro combined. But Rodri has played more which should put him ahead of Vicinius. But Bellingham has been better than both.



Should be Bellingham, could be Rodri, Vicinius would be travesty.

I mean Hala you say this but at the same time Vinicius is completely irrelevant NT-wise

If you've watched the actual games then you'd know stats lie. They almost lost the trophy when Rodri came off injured that's how commanding he was

Vini didn't even play the quater final and Brazil were absolutely useless without him. They could've won against Colombia if the Argie VAR didn't rob him of a penalty. That would've put them against Panama instead of Uruguay

Rodri's importance is overstated and the stats show it. Give me a break. I always knew his defensive stats were meh and he was basically hyped for bagging a few goals and passing the ball 200 times.

All these years in which Casemiro did everything better than Rodri bar passing and there was never a bwlon dor push for him.

They are trying so hard to push Rodri for Balon d'or over Vini. They are not even hiding it

Well yes, of those three he played the best, but the difference isn't that big. Only times Ballon d'Or has gone to the best rated player, is when Messi (or Benzema) won it. Popularity or tituleros also plays a part. Excluding popularity I just don't see why Vicinius should win it, because if you appreciate Euro/Copa more, Rodri should win. But if you don't Vicinius still shouldn't win it because Bellingham played in the same team, and had better Euro/Copa.

Vini was the standout player at RM when he wasn't injured and dragged us to a CL win more or less. All hie teammates including Jude have said that he deserves the balon d'or based on last season.

International competitions is obviously not as good as club football and even then Rodri was nothing special playing for a team that steamrolled every team bar Germany. Again the push for Rodri is pathetic.

This balon d'or is between Vini, Jude and Carvajal (who btw has a much bigger claim for balon dor than Rodri)

I think Bellingham is the one and only.

However these awards lost any merit a long time ago. The only standard should be performance over a season, but you have recency bias, popularity contests, politics, national bias...
