Premier League 2024/25
Not sure where to put this, but Man U winning the FA Cup means they will be in the Europa League next season, dropping Chelsea into the Conference League n Newcastle misses out, so:
CL - Man C, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa
EL - Spurs, Man U
CL - Chelsea
Surely one of the big teams will beat Aston Villa for top 4 again next season, will it be Chelsea? Man U? Spurs? Or even Newcastle?

Re: Premier League 2024/25
yea i think Villa are naturally gunna drop off with the addition of CL football, and even more so if they lose Ollie Watkins
think Arsenal and City are going to be the top 2 again, wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool falls into that pool of teams vying for the last two CL spots and Europa.
Will be interesting to see if Palace can maintain the form they ended with this past season, and push themselves into that pool

Another 'incredible' season for Arsenal just gone where they end up with NOTHING and we end up with a trophy
levels
gonna build on our silverware success and win the league next season

City had by far and all the worst Ucl Celebration of all
time. That’s nearly unanimously agreed upon.
And to top it off it was their first.
Still remember speaking to old head Salford fans whilst in Rutland and they couldn’t believe how bad it was.

Lol luckily we arent anytime competing at the top and our demise kind of coincided with their rise. In a weird way it helped with maintaining sanity. I mean knowing we are so shit but have the 'luxury' to worry only about ourselves. Kind of therapeutic lol. Cant imagine the trauma Pool fans have gone through and now Arse fans are starting to go through. Every fricking year and its not going to stop either. You build a top team, play so well all through the season only for these fucks to win at the end without breaking a sweat aided by external 'helps' like these. Lol its like everything starts to align and you are peaking playing exceptional football and then there is this Thanos sitting on his space throne bored, letting you enjoy initially to make it interesting and then in the end killing your hopes mercilessly. Hope we remain shit

Re: Premier League 2024/25
yea man terrible timing for us, even worse when you get rival fans dunking on your team on social media but you are playing winning football you just so happen to go up against a corrupt juggernaut.
but i won't let that take away any of the joy of what we've built under Arteta, trophies aren't the be all and end all of football

Trophies indeed are the be all end all of football and anything else is pure cope. But
Arsenal did have a brilliant season and the star of it all is Arteta above all. Pep is leaving next summer as it is so Arsenal statistically are due for a trophy
Where is that cranky German geriatric Hans who took every chance to shit on Arteta when he could

Re: Premier League 2024/25
If you are like Arsenal or Atletico or Dortmund or Roma, in being a big club but not big enough to compete with the likes of City, RMad or Barca, Bayern, Juve or either of the Milans, then a second place finish is considered an achievement. The are hundreds of clubs that can’t compete with the big boys, but that doesn’t make them failures. Clubs have to operate within their financial capability. When was the last time Arsenal won the league? Getting up to challenge for the championship right to last day is indeed an accomplishment. Compare that performance to ManU, a club with as much financial capability as City and not able to finish anywhere close to top. Now that’s a failure! And don’t tell me getting a cup championship makes up for their abysmal leaque performance.
Arq, i think you are letting EG’s whining, complaining cloud your judgement.

@Arq, of the thousands and thousands of football clubs around the world only 2 to 5% consistently win trophies, and that is mostly due to spending power in today's world. So if trophies are the be all and end all of football, tell me why do Bristol City fans continue to get up every morning on match day and go support their teams?
@bill, i wouldn't say either of the Milan teams are bigger clubs than Arsenal. Maybe in terms of European heritage, but not spending power and worldwide following.

In hopes for that one win to be the raindrop that makes a storm of wins to win the trophy.
Saying so otherwise is needless romanticism and it just so happens they are supporting their home club (most of them).
We're lucky to support huge clubs with histories. Them, its definitely harder I am sure.

That accounts to nothing in modern football imho. Next season Arsenal could get a long term injury to one of their key players, or a variety of different factors could throw a spanner in the works for them. This season they were largely lucky with regard to availability of main players and tbf you need that luck when you are up against City who will be basically flawless in the second half of the season. As EG said rightly its all about the timing and its been terrible for them. For every top team there will be a shelf life, 5-6 years perhaps max. You have to achieve maximum in that period before the next transition. And Arsenal have entered that territory with the team they have assembled. Its unfortunate any team that's taken years and careful planning at all levels to built comes up against a corrupt organization that's put together by bending and breaking rules.

Re: Premier League 2024/25
Arsenal need that A-level ceiling raiser forward to win the PL. I also think for Arteta's rep he needs to win the PL before Pep leaves, because if he doesn't then that will always be an asterisk hanging over his head.
City is always my favorites for the PL, and with the manager turnaround this season that's still the case. That said there has to come a point, where Arsenal finally get across the line. Maybe they need a City point deduction to do so.

a manager that wins 95% of the league titles he competes for, with corrupt Sheiks helping him? there will be no such asterisk hanging over Arteta

No it’s a reference to a GL chat meme from 10 years ago. Casciavit is one of AC Milan’s old nicknames, while Lasciavit means leave. Arq would write Lasciavit instead sometimes lol.
