Blue card
Apparently, apart from the yellow and red card, a blue card will be added.
If a player argues with the ref or commits a blatant tactical foul, he will be blue carded.
The punishment is 10 minutes out for the player. Also, if a player gets 2 blue cards, it's a red, or if he already has a yellow and gets a blue, it is also a red.
Opinions?

Re: Blue card
don't forget Pep and his high up the field tactical fouls...
should open up games more, make it more fast paced and end to end... let's see, nothing wrong against trying it

Re: Blue card
Should be a positive change to maintain the flow of the game, worth trying at least.

Re: Blue card
Although I am somewhat in favor of it, particularly as it sounds like it can prevent behavior such as used by Simone. However I think there are more concerning refereeing issues that should be a priority.
First and foremost is fixing Var issues. The video alterations and ref refusals to use Var have to be totally eliminated. The rules for Var should be clearly stated and consistent across all countries and followed to the letter.
Next is make penalties more severe for referee crowding and extended ref complaining and play acting.
And finally, there has to be more transparency with referee screw ups. At a minimum the ref should have to explain himself when a controversial call has been made. Until this is done, there will always be allegations of corruption. The governing bodies for referees should not only review the controversial calls or refereeing errors, they should take action of repeated offenses.
As to the comments about disrupting the flow of game, I believe consistent ref calls will stop the bad behavior. End result if all of the above is implemented is we could enjoy futbol with all the nonsense taken out of game.

Re: Blue card
Do you peeps really think referees have enough good judgment to use these? They can't get a call right with VAR.
Imagine if Lahoz had a blue card lol.

This makes it complete impossibility.sportsczy wrote:Imagine if Lahoz had a blue card lol.
Ref makes bad red call, gets argued, shows another blue (red). Just makes it worse. Refs need to be held accountable (perceived) on the field.

Re: Blue card
At first i thought this was a good idea but the more i think about it, the less i think it will work
Referees cannot be trusted to make the good decision even with the VAR backing them. I'd rather not give them any more influence on the games than they already have.
Adding a buffer between yellow card and red card will only spark more controversy and debates around the refs decisions. 10 minutes penalty is a huge consequence and from what i see there won't be much clarity about which type of foul deserves a yellow or a blue or a red card.

Re: Blue card
Adding cards won't solve the problem... the fixes have nothing to do with it:
- Other than the captain (and maybe create a vice captain too), nobody else is allowed to argue a call. Automatic yellow.
- Make rules clear. I'm not sure anyone understands what a hand ball is for example.
- Stop putting mentally retarded people in the VAR booth. It shouldn't be that hard.
