Interesting if Yamal chooses Morocco.. Algeria are hot trash, but Morocco actually has a stacked and organized team

It used to be that once you played for Sr. NT, you couldn’t play for another country! Has this rule been changed and when?

That’s true, I think Munir for example sent a request to FIFA and they eventually allowed him to switch. He still doesn’t start for Morocco though lol. Brahim and Yamal definitely could. I do believe Brahim is capped though, and he’s much older so it would be harder for him, and I think he does have a future with the Spanish NT with the way he’s playing.
EDIT: I did a google search and it looks like he is trying to change allegiance to Morocco? I do believe he has to submit a request to fifa first.

In the case of Brahim, I don’t believe he has ever played for Sr. spanish NT, but Yamal did in the last year.
I know when Diego Costa was applying to change to play for Spain, he was allowed as although he played 2 games for Brazil Sr. Team, they were friendly games.

I didn't even notice farsa losing.
Just know infidels that Xavi despite his misguided philosophy has my full support. The team and the administration is to blame for their current woes, not the coach. I hope he gets a lifetime contract. I do not think they can do better.

Re: La Liga 2023/24
Turok, look up and read an interview by Marca with Capello this week. It’s in Forbes.com 3 days ago. It’s very insightful. He talked about why Carlo is best coach in world. He says he has won everywhere he has worked, he smart, he doesn’t have a system, it depends on the players he has. Knowing how to adapt is a sign of intelligence. You can’t always play with the same style, it depends on the players you have. He then took a shot at Xavi noting thar a lot of coaches say you have to play this way. watch the last Madrid - Barca match. Xavi has quality players and very fast strikers and you put the defensive line in the middle of the pitch. Well thank you very much is probably what Carlo thought!
I think Xavi went into this season, content with players he had, but he wanted his system! He wanted to be another Pep. But Pep works for teams that have all the money in world to get him whatever players he wants. That is no longer the case for Barca, thanks to previous criminal presidents and board. Likely stuck with the dire financial situation for at least 5 more years.
Now apparently Laporta has said said there will be consequences if there are no trophies this season. He said this before Spanish super cup. Now with super cup lost and now eliminated from copa, that leaves liga and CL. Both look unlikely! Carlo got sacked last time around for same reason!

Re: La Liga 2023/24
Xavi quite simply put is a good coach but an idealist and those rarely work in futbol.
He is the equivalent of choosing a mid-table team in FIFA and trying to play with an entire different philosophy with it. He seems just not see that or seems to want to take the risk of sticking to his guns rather than that adaptation.

^^maybe he needs to fail horribly with that approach first so that he evolves as a coach, coz i don't think he is a low IQ person unlike someone like Gerrard or Rooney

Re: La Liga 2023/24
I think his biggest mistake was not recruiting a proper DM after letting Busquets leave.
For all the flaws that Busi had and slowing down with age, he was still essential to commanding our game and dictating the play in front of the defense.
Xavis problem is that he wants to play the same as last season without having the right personnel for that.

Also it's all the more peculiar that Xavi hasn't foreseen that having been a midfielder himself. Replacing Busi with Romeu was a huge mistake in the eyes of everyone but Xavi I guess. A proper DM connects with the attack and protects the CBs, we don't have that now.

wow low IQ? that's a bit rich. Do we take into account the "talent" those players are managing? I bet off the top of the head and without google we can't name the top 5 players Gerrard and Rooney have coached. And if we can, i'm not sure many people on here would be begging for their team to sign said players. Players are an important part of coaching. Gerrard went undefeated with rangers (they had a better team compared to the bulk of the league), then flopped at villa (they had a not so good team compared to the bulk of the league).
Rooney has never coached a top flight team in Europe, you can't possibly expect that he will have the same resources as some of these other dudes and thus be able to experiment and go into post-match interviews talking about how making the left winger become a decoy for the defensive midfielder freed up space for the right back to feed the striker that helped them win. Then all the media butt kissers in the press room decide to wax lyrical about him in their next column.
A big part of managing in football is psychology not always IQ (even though managers like to market themselves like it is). I would say there's more IQ in nba coaching than football. Cos the manager has a bigger influence and grasp on the game. And it all works when you have the talent to do so. If i'm able to CONVINCE ronaldinho to play on the left to allow rivaldo and r9 run the show up front, i'm in a different boat than some coach who doesn't even have a talented left winger, and is probably trying to sign a left back from the 2nd division to play in that role

Re: La Liga 2023/24
Hmmm, bill trying to stir things up without knowing anything n writing bs again?
Xavi wasnt happy with the squad, especially after losing Dembele. Romeu really is a puzzle signing though, along with the likes of Ferran, so I guess its a mixed bag for him in terms of eye for players who fit or not, etc... no idea what Laporta's stance is n prolly depend on a lot of factors if he will decide to stick with Xavi or not. For me I always thought its unrealistic to expect to can compete with Real these few yrs or in the CLs... maybe fluke a Copa run, so I hope hes not having too unrealistic expectations. I mean even if a new top coach comes in, would he really be able to do much better?

I mentioned what a well respected retired coach said, what was reported that Laporta said And confirmed by Xavi just yesterday plus what Xavi said at beginning of season!

Re: La Liga 2023/24
Villarreal is such a weird team... technically good but weak overall. Not sure how we turned it around in like 10mins
Roque for Lewand...
Felix was awful again this game, so that means Ferran starts next one
