What value does a brand with no followers of fans add to the league? Last time I checked their stadium was still called emptyhad.

I'd love to know how City being at top is better than United being at top given City have gotten gallons of favourable decisions to their titles as well, brute forced their way to the top via barrels of money and basically have no club culture let alone atmosphere.
Sir Alex and the teams he built from milquetoast resources was far more impressive and actually have a history of winning.

Again, how does you liking those players qualify as City being better on top.
Lest we forget the incredible players Sir Alex's United produced? This argument makes no sense.

Ferguson hasn't been their manager for 10 years. Weren't you the one who kept saying that the club was stuck in the past?

Re: Premier League 2023/24
I dont see what I asked has anything to do with when SAF was manager or not.
My question was why is City being on top better than when United was on top?
Well we know why, cause Arsenal fans are jaded after being absolutely BTFO by United on a yearly basis. Thats why

Too bad for you I do understand given LFC fans & I had the mass privilege to know what it's like to be top, and actually winning it.
I dont blame you for not knowing that as an Arsenal fan though.

Like it or not, Man City definitely are one of the biggest names in world football nowadays, due to initially the money n marketing, n then the players n achievements n trophies, its inevitable. Its not a hit on Man U fans, but naturally things have definitely changed compared to a decade or so ago... Man C have lots n lots of fans worldwide now... same goes to PSG, etc...

I’d be really furious as a Liverpool fan to Citeh stealing 4-5 titles from them in a 6-7 years period.

Yes that is the reason for contrasting opinions regarding City if you take a Liverpool and Arsenal fan. Pool fans obviously view them with disdain because they were their actual rivals in this timeframe where as Arsenal fans still say stuff like 'they like their players' and 'enjoy their football' lol cos used to never compete with them until last year. They used to consider themselves as City's little brothers, happily taking their castoffs and whatnot. Now that they are actually competing with them, let's see their lines and opinions changing about Pep and their players soon .

People need to get I dislike United far more than City. City I don't hate city I dont have any thoughts on them at all but it certainly isn't respect. At least I respect United despite absolutely enjoying their misery at the moment.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
One day my teenage cousin asked me to play some Fifa kick-offs
So i asked who do you take ? Real, Barca ? He says nah i'm taking Manchester. At first i was like oh bold choice because in my mind "Manchester" equals United, but to my surpise he proceeds to take 5 star rated Man City
That's when i realize the generational gap, the last time United dominated this guy was probably still in preschool, he's a football fan who knows every player etc but for him United is folklore. Is it mostly those born before 2000 who witnessed City's rise from scrapyard that get to despise them ??

I have the same impression. I feel like I’ve seen a lot more kids wearing Man City kits in recent years. I also read that the «emptyhad» nickname is misplaced, as the club supposedly lies just behind the classic top 4 in ticket sales.
I’m not sure if that last statement is true, as I haven’t actually tried to confirm it, but I’ve realized that I’m in the arquitecto camp of being a grumpy millennial who’s stuck in the past and can’t bring myself to like the club

Re: Premier League 2023/24
very much true... noticing a lot of kids younger than 20 that just jump onto the Man City bandwagon just like many of my peers jumped onto the Man Utd bandwagon just because they were winning
people are attracted to winning, it's the simple truth... in my case it's also standing out/being unique/being an artist of a craft... that's the reason i am a fan of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Steph Curry, Patrick Mahomes and Roger Federer
funnily enough, my little brother turning 17 today, is a Man Utd fan... i do not know how because my stepdad/his father has allegiances with Arsenal and Liverpool, I'm an Arsenal diehard, our grandfather is an Arsenal diehard, and his closest uncle is close to being an Arsenal diehard... i actually need to ask him how he became one

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Thimmy you've caught me at the point if anything I detest my naive past of being a football romantic. Where I'd accuse a player shifting to a bigger club and for money as a "mercenary" or not being "loyal" to his club.
I respect United for their history and history alone but its an old thought of mine if anything as history alone doesn't grant you why you should be at top for the world is one of merit and merit alone is what deserves victory. Why communism failed hard and never will work.
Plus being rivals with City as an LFC supporter doesn't help.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Cant really disagree with any of the posts above. City continuing on this track 10 years from now and they will also have history to go with all the other things they have manufactured. The newer generation will indeed become their fans. And United will become like the Nottingham Forest of today where people will find it hard to believe we have won important trophies in the past. Sad reality.

Liverpool one after another are putting performances for Klopp. Unbelievable vibes and energy today in the stadium, some mate was in the stadium today messaging me. It seems like everyone including players are absolutely in the right mental zone for this season. The game against Arsenal is immense, cant wait for it.

look, no matter what anyone says. City were cruising 2-0 against Burnley today and were actually playing good football. The game felt like a tennis match, so much silence whenever I see their games at Etihad. I dont even understand why that club exist.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Easy win v Chelsea, an absolutely dire team. Expected rather.
Its getting harder each game know Kloppo will be gone, by now my favourite LFC coach of all time. His celebrations are stronger again during goals and the players clearly are in it for him.
This is our title this year I can feel it I can see it.
And Darwin needs to piss off
