A bit like so many past top players, I feel for Ake becos hes the better defender than ball playing Gvardiol... warming the bench...
And now I almost just pretty jinxed him too, losing out to Kulu equalizer LOL Im on fire... n this game is insane...
Man C conceding too many goals this season n failing to close out games...

Yea the gap is incredibly small considering the huge difference in quality XD Luck has been a factor n Man U good at scraping 1-0s often? U guys got a GD of -1 ffs... as time passes things will even out. Man C are 3rd now behind Liverpool which is pretty amazing...

I’ve seen it a few times, but they typically end up winning anyway. They seem to be going through a similar slump to the one they went through after losing to Liverpool last season, only Haaland isn’t in form this time around and it seems to be more due to lack of concentration than the complacency they showed so often before the world cup started. Maybe it’s finally Arsenal’s time to win the league

Re: Premier League 2023/24
a few times is an overstatement... i watch the PL every weekend, City has the largest decisions for vs decisions against ratio in the league
it's gunna be a shootout between City, Arsenal and Liverpool this season... City and Pool probably still have the edge because of their winning experience, for us it will depend on if we can hold our nerve and of course no key injuries

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Ive been consistent with the opinion that the points of LFC don't reflect our title contending abilities. Whereas chances are being created up from there is no real threat bar repetitive ball movements that usually centre around Sarah who doesn't quite have the vision to make key passes to open up space in the box. Our front is the least of our problems for the midfield lacks balance and then the defence is just dire and lacks any communication back there. VvD is who he is but frequently still has the habit of shouting commands and delegating whilst having lapses himself.
Last night was a case of us making Fulham look good whom I have not a good thing to say about given they just aren't a very good team.
Trent was my star for obvious reasons given his delicious free kick and then the game winning goal that has all of our hearts.
City dropping points is cool but lots of work needed to be done to create the gap needed.

Man pretty much every top GK signing to an extent has suffered this period. DDG did so did Courtois and Onana is not so different.
If he is as good as he was it'll take just a small catalyst to change it but with United's current fortunes its harder to see that happening now.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Arsenal-Luton was basically a replica of Fulham-Liverpool except the former was actually a good game. Not Raya's best game by any means as he cost the game nearly himself though Barkley's shot that went past the GK was more difficult than it looked for Barkley has a very good shot on him. ødegaard was my player of the game the way he ran the creative end by himself and provided a delicious cross for Rice to finish it off.
Rice was mostly stuck in defensive duty and had one of his lesser games in performance but to drive the header the way he did was beautiful. Man celebrated so hard he was out of breath minutes after.
Harsh on Luton who actually played quite well with the cards they were given and defended beautifully until the obvious goal. Mostly washed up and not so skilled players so harsh on their manager and they've every reason to be proud of their game, loss regardless.
A loss against Luton just when City drop points would just be classic Arsenal.

It's funny how true this is. I'm happy to see that it didn't happen this time around, though. As much as I follow City these days, I'd rather see Arsenal win the league.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
I'm 100% behind Arsenal if LFC dont win it (of course).
Im indifferent to City compared to my perpetual dislike for United and Arsenal Ive always had a soft spot for.
But I cannot see them lasting through the season with their thin depth and persisting problems.
They have a good core squad, in which I rate Saliba, Saka, and especially Rice & ødegaard the highest but City have too much depth and experience not to nick it right in the end.
Which would just make things a bit boring and predictable by now as if it already has not been already.

I agree with you, but I do think City lost a bit of quality depth this summer. They fell behind Arsenal in the title race last season due to what I can only assume was complacency/relative indifference in most of their players. They would've fallen further behind if Bernardo Silva and Haaland didn't effectively compensate for most of their players being out of form.
Right now, Haaland isn't performing all that well, Stones and De Bruyne are both out injured, and some of that complacency seems to be creeping up again. I do think City will keep churning out wins until De Bruyne and Stones return, but if they don't, I think they'll have a much harder time fighting their way back to the top. Mahrez and Gundogan weren't particularly impressive during the first half of last season, but they were in super mode after the world cup ended. Those two players haven't been adequately replaced.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Haaland not performing well? Man has 19 goals in 21 games unless not to the standard you hold him to to which is definitively above most here if not all.
The rest I agree with.
They aren't the team they were seasons ago if not last year but the depth and quality still is leagues above their contenders and I just cannot see LFC and Arsenal lasting past a point.

No surprise. Never have put Maguire down for when he isn't being his lunkhead self he's a wall in the back.
For England he has been terrific for a while now too.
