Re: Premier League 2023/24
This game showed VAR needs to improve ffs...especially when drawing offside lines, takes forever for some reason? Geez... XD This game will be defined as the game of VAR...

Maybe the worst hat trick performance i have ever seen by a player, gawd Jackson is frustrating he should have had 6 or 7 goals. Hopefully it raises his confidence.

exactly as expected, injuries and suspensions piling up for Spurs and theyre collapsing, will struggle for top 4 this season IMO, just a lack of depth

Only half watching but what a crazy game for the scoreline How is Chelsea seemingly at least matching Man C when they have been crap for so long?

Man City haven't had a great performance-wise start to this season, based on their usual standards. Some of their key players lack the intensity that they had both during the first two months and second half of last season, and their football has been slower than usual. But they're stable. Unlike most other clubs, they never look outright bad. They just sometimes look like they can't shift into a higher gear.
And that's probably a good thing in terms of energy conservation as long as they can still churn out the wins, but it seems to have backfired on them against a Chelsea team that was willing to fight for it. That said, I imagine Man City will keep winning after this match, while Chelsea will have exhausted some of their energy on a match that might not mean much for them in the grand scheme of things.

City are in deep shit IMO and the reason swift punishment wasn't handed out is because the charges are vast. I sincerely believe they will be relegated and stripped of everything they've won.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Think these are the usual wishful thinking from jealous fans generated by the usual sensational media thats jumping on this rumour due to Everton breaching FFP? No reliable media is reporting apart from saying it 'possible if Man C n Chelsea are also found guilty'... which I dont would result in such severe punishment anyway. These top clubs are too rich n powerful unlike Everton

Most major news outlets reported on it last year. I read a few articles on the topic, but I don't know how reliable any of them were. The club was investigated for financial fair play breaches between 2009 and whenever the investigation started (2018 or 2019) after documents were leaked suggesting foul play involved in the stated income generated from their sponsorship deals, and it was claimed that Manchester City had breached some ridiculous number of rules related to financial fair play during the early to mid 2010s.
Something along the lines of not cooperating with the investigators by providing correct/timely information was among those rule breaches, and it seemed like the investigators had stacked as many claims as they could, in order to build a strong case against the club. I don't remember how many rule breaches it was in total, but it seemed like an extremely inflated amount. There are some serious claims regarding how the club acted with their financial statements before Pep and his team arrived at the club, and I don't doubt that those are true considering how they were doing business back then, but that's so long ago now that it's probably going to be a long process to get to the bottom of it.
I imagine Man City have an excellent team of lawyers, and it's going to cost everyone involved a lot of time and money before the situation is settled. I had assumed there would be a statute of limitations on cases like these, but maybe that doesn't apply to sports.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
I just read an article in which City has claimed innocence and will fight this (there are 115 charges). Apparently the investigation was over 5 years with City doing everything possible to disrupt or delay. The charges were made last February. The reporter said it could be years before this is settled!
Also stated in this article it said the team being stripped of trophies is unlikely, rather they are more concerned with future, not past.

The man is nearly 40 years old. He would never start for a top club that are serious about winning trophies. Not sure what's expected there.BarcaLearning wrote:T.Silva the best defender of a generation? Im still puzzled

right? the dude is a counter attacking merchant, and even then you have to hope that he strikes the ball cleanly to have a chance at a goal

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Nobody is very consistent this season, Spurs will finish behind us 100% IMO
Also, seems like we're looking to ship Varane and Casemiro out
I'm all for it tbh, on huge money and while Varane is elite on his day...he's injured for half of every season. Casemiro inconsistent too but still our best player usually. Seems like both have fallen out with ETH. Ship them out and get in some lads from Nice like Tobido
