Ferran Torres is a weird case.

He was signed to be Sane's replacement. He was supposed to be City's new touchline hugging 1v1 winger, and he completely flopped in that role. He was either too scared to go past his man or he couldn't because he got brushed off. The biggest problem was that you could tell he was barely involved in the game. He was honestly like a ghost at times.

He got a second chance at City playing as a striker. He still had that issue of being a ghost in the build-up, but he turned out to be an amazing shooter. His movement and finishing are very good. He was like a Spanish Vardy, but with less pace and more technique. He dunked on small teams but was fairly invisible against any good teams.

I assume Xavi is signing him to play as a 9 because Barca lacks any threat in their box. I think Ferran will do alright. He'll probably bag a fair bit of goals himself. I don't view him as an elite talent, and that's because he has no presence on the field which was glaring in big games. I think he'll do the job of scoring tap-ins against minnows which is what Barca needs to finish 4th place. He's also capable of playing anywhere on the front line, so he's rather versatile too.

He is only 21, and he'll be a starter at Barca, so he'll develop his weak traits. It's a good step forward for Barca to have him and Fati as they are very good shooters. You'll get 15+ goals from each of them in the league every season if they are able to stay fit.

Ferran hardly deserves the title of a weird case as he just simply is not very good. His movement is as good as it can be but simply to compensate for his lack of general skill-set.

I cannot see why Xavi is going after him.

Mazrouai is a free agent in June so its not happening this winter.

Him and Azpilicueta are interesting RB options for free in the summer.

Milik: Juve still interested after all those years. The guy is as injury prone as they come and Icardi is a much better option imo.

He is never really in game shape it seems. A lot of minor injuries and when he does play he is not a factor for us. He has good flashes sometimes but that's far from sufficient.

Also he played under 3 managers in 3 years, he struggles to find a role because what he brings to the table we already have plenty of. Instead in midfield we need a DM since many years.

He's the Romagnoli replacement i would presume, left footed, 25, can even play LB as well.

Though i don't think we're gunning for him, he's on 5m net and came from Dortmund for 32m, he'd be the 2nd highest earner at the club after Ibra

If you mean the new Villa based on what he may replicate I highly doubt that because Villa has more skill in his left toe then Ferran has in his entire body. He will never reach that level.

What about Haaland ? Messi was so much of a financial burden that you can afford unlimited spendings again ? Not so long ago we were doing shady deals Arthur vs Pjanic to scrape an extra 10 millions in the books

We need to offload some players (Coutinho, Umtiti etc) but it is expected that we will be able to face the signing of Haaland in the summer if an opportunity arises, regardless of Ferran. It's not ruled out that he stays at BVB for 1 more year.

Good thinking by Barca to put those release clauses at 1 bn and not, like, 300m, 500m, or 750m, as no doubt teams would be lining up to snatch those Torres or Pedri kids up at those figures in no time

By Spanish law every contract must have a release clause, it's Barca's way of saying that there is no release clause and teams must negotiate.

Come to think of it, it probably violates the spirit of the law and could be challenged in court if needed.

I know that they have to be there legally, still the 1bn nonsense is just dumb, braggart posturing
