Looks like they are going to bring up Vinicius Tobias, recently signed via Shaktar. He’s a prospect, but sure looks good, 18 year old Brazilian. Dani has played to his old form the past couple of games. Bring up this kid will be a much better option than Lucas. Bottom line if they take up the free transfer option on Rudgier, move Alaba to LB (all of which Hala suggested in past week), and use this other Vinicius, the defense is greatly improved, with several backup options and it can be done with no real transfer costs nor impact to salary as Rudgier’s salary can be exchanged for the departing Marcelo.

Issue however remains; has club recognized how bad current defense is!

If Casemiro is unavailable I'd consider benching Kroos and playing Cama-Valverde double pivot. Hope Carlo is thinking along thr same lines

With Haaland gone, they aren’t as desperate for sales income. That might explain why they are talking about  renewal. The way it looks now the backups are only Rodrygo and Lucas as everyone else is up for sale. With rumours that they might go after Cavani, there still might be a need for someone like Asensio. For sure he won’t be a starter. They will listen to what he wants and if he is reasonable they likely will renew. However if he asks for something stupid ………

Mbappe is about to sign a 2 year extension with PSG too... with an out clause (unofficial since exit clauses are illegal in France) after 1 year.  Qatar desperate to keep him through the world cup and Mbappe doesn't seem averse, especially when they're offering him 50 mil net per season and a 100 mil signing bonus.  The 100 mil offsets what Madrid are offering him as a bonus and 50 mil net is outrageous.  It's almost impossible to refuse.  Going to be a half ass club season anyhow with the world cup literally splitting the season into two...  i think he extends.  Makes too much sense.

You're assuming that Haaland wanted to come to Real Madrid at all cost... he's likely getting paid a heck of a lot more to play for Man City. And with Raiola as his agent, you know that money was a key.

I think Madrid are hoping that Mbappe stays solid and want to keep the money there.

Like I said, next season is going to be a weird club season anyhow. World Cup breaks the season in two... and players will be half dead from the world cup when they return anyhow. He seems sensible enough, and money hasn't appeared to be a primary motivating factor (and he certainly won't be underpaid at Madrid), so why would he trust any unofficial out from PSG given how they responded to his apparent request to leave this past summer?

Surely he also knows that pricing himself at 50m net means that he takes himself out of the market for virtually every other team once the contract ends (because as much as anyone really thinks they will, no one is going to take a paycut at this stage of his career), meaning he only really has PSG as an option, assuming too that QSG remains interested in the club after the world cup, and his ambition seems to be far beyond anything UberEats Ligue can provide

Even if he doesnt u guys got enough to retain the league next season, Modric doesnt age, same as Benzema, n Vini will be enough to carry the overall decent team. Also u got winning mentality n havent dominated the league in a long time so should be your turn next few yrs.

Even if WC fatigue or whatever, the other teams just dont seem good enough at all the challenge. Us Barca unless we are able to get another couple of WC players in we wont threaten... knowing that our biggest threat is just Dembele for example. Simone will continue to pretend to play football but will be same old, Sevilla still has old Rakitic starting ffs (as much as I like the player), Emery is only good at cups, so, no worries for u guys, Mbappe or not
