I am probably the only one who thought that was uncalled for and very unhelpful. At least he greeted Carlo eventhough he didnt want to. Imagine if he'd done a James in our most important stretch of the season

I doubt these guys have that level of self realisation, highly highly doubt. The fact that he still had the sense to give Carlo a touch showed me that Kroos has that level of professionalism that I always admired of him.

When Chelsea went up 3-0 i turned off the TV and went for a walk. couldn't take it anymore because i didn't see us turning it around.

After few minutes i checked the result and saw 3-2. i guess miracles do happen.

Also Carlo is an idiot. we get destroyed when the opponent brings the energy in midfield. for the love of god bench Kroos and Casemiro if they are not on form.

Luka Modric needs to be as close to opponents goal as possible. and for that he needs likes of Valverde and Camavinga to cover for him.

It's obviously never good for someone to be injured. So I hope Mendy manages to recover quickly

Footballing wise It's a blessing that he is "unavailable" he is an above average defender who isn't good enough to start for a team of this stature. Last game, Marcelo came on and actually defended better than him

We should definitely look into getting Rudiger on a free and shuffling Alaba along to LB. Mendy would be a good player to have on the bench to sub in when we want to see out a game but never as a starter

Hala, he is literally the best LB we have currently. Marcelo cannot perform in high-medium calibre matches anymore and Nacho is terrible as a LB. This is a big loss.

I disagree i think Nacho is better than him. Don't let the Barca game deceive you. Nacho has experience galore and has come in during really huge games and been absolutely impeccable. I like him less as a central defender but if that means shifting Alaba to LB who seems to struggle playing as a CB I'll gladly do it.

Mendy apart from having -10 chemistry with Vini does very little right. He doesn't have a high iq that lad. He has been making many mistakes these past few seasons. We like to overanalyse the mistakes Dani does for example but sweep it under the rug for this guy

Look who was our worst defender when we got eliminated by Chelsea last season or City a couple of seasons ago. A waste of 50ME Zidane saddled us with after he forced us to get Hazard for 100ME

Nacho generally does really well as a FB even ventures forward every once in a while to swing in crosses.

In an ideal world Alaba is our LB and we pair Nacho with Militao like we did last season when we went on that impressive run.

Next season we get a starter calibre CB and everyone are were they should be

Funny you should say that. Mendy was even worse against Chelsea even got whistled when he got subbed out. And he's supposed to be the 50ME defender not a cantera who's always been a back up his whole career.

Nacho is at fault for 2 goals and Mendy was not. Nacho is a good backup. Not CB or LB starting material and especially not over mendy.

Mendy was solid in the first leg. Not his fault Vini does not provide any defensive cover AND nacho decided very stupidly to pass it back to mendy in a dangerous area leading up to the disallow goal. Lets face it Nacho at best is utlity backup, never a starter

Ill add also that rushing Mendy back is a mistake we keep making time and time again. Happened last year and happening again. Rushed for the first leg, out vs getafe. Rushed for the 2nd leg, out for 2 weeks. And of course this comes down to Carlo not trusting his backups.

If carlo wasnt stubborn just stick Nacho at LCB with Alaba at LB. but he wont do it. I just pray nacho does not get washed by Mahrez/Jesus in the first leg

He works his ass of, that is true. He is just really really really not good at it lol. Bless him but I appreciate the effort. He'll get better at it as he gets older.

Also, we keep rushing Mendy because, unlike Hala's thoughts lol, he is our best LB we have.

I also don’t agree with Hala’s assessment of Mendy, but I do like Hala’s summer timeframe solution!

Previously club showed little interest in Rudiger, even with the free transfer as at that time they were satisfied with Militao and Alaba. The pursuit for a more reliable CB for replacing Vallejo has so far not shown candidates!   The only one that I think of Pau Torres would cost a lot more than Rudiger! Further, despite our desperate need for much more competent fullbacks (on both sides), there isn’t a lot of suitable candidates.

The exposure of Alaba deficiencies at CB has now been exposed, demonstrating that we do need a competent starter. Signing Rudiger and moving Alaba solves both the CB and LB issues plus gives us more backup options. With the one signing, we will only need challenger to Dani and a better potential CB than Vallejo to improve the overall defense and overall makes for lots of internal competition which is a good thing.
