Arteta is such a bum man... clear weaknesses in the Liverpool team with TAA, Phillips and Kabak, but we're playing pityball :trash:

This is a very beta performance from Arsenal.

Two big problems. First is a lack of compactness in the defensive phase, with the front four stepping onto Liverpool's backline but the midfield and defence staying deep. When Thiago or Milner drop deep they're free to receive it behind the press because Ceballos and Partey aren't following. When Liverpool get out the Arsenal front four have to get back. Aubameyang's making last-ditch tackles on the edge of his own box.

Then in possession, everyone's deep. There're no outlets down the flanks or up front, so the long ball isn't on most of the time. Worst of all, the whole team is terrified of playing into midfield. Watch Chambers or Holding constantly go back to Leno so he can pump it long to nobody. Thiago is following Ceballos and it seems nobody in the Arsenal backline trusts Ceballos to deal with that.

Liverpool are also winning the second ball in midfield every time which doesn't help. It's a very flakey Arsenal midfield outside of Partey.

It's probably worth mentioning that you have probably the weakest Arsenal squad I've seen since 2003 as well Your one established, star player turns 32 in two months and has been out of form the entire season.

No surprises as we brush away Arsenal who are again "just some heart" away from beating us as per their fans.

I wish Klopp had some more balls and played Nat at CB and forced Fabinho at DM in the games for the first 6 months of the season, we would have been at a much better place.

Anyways, we keep trying to salvage what's left of this season.

So whats all the hype on Odegaard? I dont follow Arsenal, but whenver I watch them, hardly ever impressive at all? The commentators were saying 2 Real Madrid loan players in midfield, and then Partey, would have thought they show better than they did in this game

Liverpool were very good vs Villa. TAA is so dominant when he is free to do so, also nice to see Roberto playing well again. But they concede goals and that defense just doesnt give u any confidence. I do hope they make the CL for next season and have everyone back, would be a shame if they dont and instead Leicester gets it or something

TAA needs to play in midfield for the sake of carrying that captain badge in the middle of the field and succeeding Hendo. May be no immediately but over the course of next 2 seasons, he can be slowly pushed into the midfield role.
