Pool fans will be able to point to deflections as just being unlucky, and they're correct lol

They've been absolutely shocking, but I've also never seen luck such as this

Yeah, he clearly brings things that can't be measured through statistics and actual output.

I don't understand Pool fans on Firmino.

He's not devoid of quality. He does offer some valuable skillsets, and he has great movement.

But his goalscoring is poor and his creativity and link up play, while decent at times, is way too inconsistent to make up for it IMO. People talk like he's some irreplaceable part of Liverpool.  I don't get it. He's extremely replaceable.

I'm not so sure that's true. The thing is, for all his lack of goals and inconsistent attacking output, he is arguably the best CF in the world against the ball.
So, along the line of Klopp's often cited claim that counterpressing, or winning the ball back early and high, 'is the best playmaker', Firmino's consistent performing against the ball might be an important part of their attacking output too.
So then we would have to count interceptions or balls won also as stats meaningful for an attackers' performance. And I don't really see any other striker doing this the same way as Firmino.

Let it go Hans, Doc and CB aren't arsed. 4 years he has played, I don't know what to say at this point so I try to point people in a specific direction to find out by themselves rather than spoon feeding their ignorance.

Best CF in the world against the ball? Alright. Didn't know we were adding specific best of categories.

Pressing is a team activity. Firmino presses well from the front and his energy up there is valuable because of that, but Mane and Salah put in a similar shift while being 10x the players

Why? Because they score the goals? Correct! Why do they score goals, how do they get into the positions?

You're getting there!

No one is sitting here calling Firmino the best striker in the world or the best goal scorer.

You asked "He brings those things that can't be measured through statistics and actual output."

Now you can't understand when you have someone actually takes the time out to explain, Stop Doc.

I mean playing that high line without Alisson was always a suicide. People are not realising how much he contributes to initiating attacks, keeping possession, making that back 4 look better than they are.

Liverpool have been playing this super high line this season. As high as Bayern's line under Flick. Wonder if Klopp took some inspiration?

Unfortunately, they haven't been sharp enough to stop the counters and get to second balls, except in the Arsenal game. So that high line is super exploitable.

Klopp's asking Gomez and Van Dijk to be perfect 10/10 every game and it ain't working.

he is quite a tidy player tbh. But probably will go to Bundesliga in 2-3 years. Seems like a Leverkusen type of player

Think maybe more along the lines of Wolfsburg or Frankfurt. EL round of last 32 level
