Leeds, Chelsea, Arsenal done, 9 points for the "They were lucky" PL winners.
There was nothing lucky about your PL win. Your individual talent is on par with, if not better than any other team. All I remember reading on here was predictions that things would suddenly go downhill, which made little sense to me then, and still doesn't.

I must say my enthusiasm towards the season is lowered by the on-going pandemic and crowdless matches. It's got a feeling of friendlies.

without fans, it just does not feel normal. Anfield does not feel like Anfield. I dont know if I will be able to actually watch the whole season like this.Art Morte wrote:David Luiz and Thiago Silva, two washed up Brazilian CBs who cannot believe their luck they're still picking up the fat paychecks in London.

EG has nothing rattled. He just needs to learn to keep his jounjo in his shop shut and locked forever. He is too obsessed with Liverpool's success in the past few seasons. He talks absolute nonsense and shit all the time whenever Liverpool win. He comes to Liverpool section and says "Liverpool will be locked in top 4 battle this season" and believes Arsenal are challenging for title. Unique was much better than EG

Wtf? That's like me saying "let Carroll get one good header into a defender's hand to earn a penalty and let's talk about his England call-ups then."

Yeah, it just feels like watching friendlies. I'm still kind of curious about the games and what quality the teams show, but it's difficult to watch it like "oh wow, this really matters".

Re: 2020/21 Premier League Discussion
i look around, i look around, and it seems to be that i got man rattled
Liverpool are still clearly the best team in the league, and it seems we were too quick and presuming the wheels have fallen/would fall off this quick @Hans. It'll take a bit more than that, and credit to them.
Having said that, i wish we would have just been more confident right from the start you know? I mean Liverpool are just 11 men after all, not gods, you know? I get sitting back for them because they're much more a well-drilled machine than us, but jesus christ at least be incisive with your passing, no? Being confident, pass the ball with enough pace and strength, move your ass, show some intent, get open whenever your teammate has the ball so that you make it easier for him. Be confident, don't fear them. They were feeding off our nerves more than our conservative system. Yes, we are still two or three top quality players away in certain positions to challenge throughout an entire season, but for one game (and in fact every other game here and there) showing complete commitment and focus to the task will get you a long way ahead. And we didn't have that, especially not in the first half.
With all of that said, just to give further perspective, if Jota's goal gets right written off for clearly handling the ball before scoring and Lacazette actually finishes his chance - we might have very well gotten something out of that. So yea, we're still off the pace, but hopefully we can at least seal up Aouar this week and then start working on improving our mentality and commitment to the task.

that is what happens when you have nothing good to talk about except "ohhh we fought well this time with only 2 touches in the opposition box in the first half"

i actually said Ceballos still needs to find rhythm for this season because of his poor game against West Ham, but clearly i was wrong

Messi has been playing football for years, fully televised, and people who are paid to talk about the sport still question if he could do it in the Premier League?

But at the very least, cut off supply to the fullbacks. That means, press VVD when he is on the ball. The CF does not allow VVD to breathe 1 second. This will cut off the ball into space for TAA. Likewise, have the wide midfielders/ forwards harry the fullbacks all game long. Dont allow them a second on the ball even at the risk of leaving the center exposed.
Liverpool's attack is all fullback driven. Cut the supply and ensure nothing happens from there. If they create through the middle, fair play. Nothing should come from the flanks.

I never enjoy old men crying, but your transformation from a fanboy to a hater has been incredible.
Looking forward to November 4th!
as for EG, love him or hate him, he's a unique character and adds a fun dimension to the forum as every post of his is WILD and unique to read unlike many others.
Don't worry bro, we won't go unbeaten, so the invincibles will remain intact.
Now that title hopes are dashed, time to shift that deep focus on global communism

English teams are by far the easiest to play against in CL

when the other team aren't looking to play football but rugby and he's their target
no doubt he would flop in the PL tbh, he's not built for it
just the glitz and glamour of a CL tie

Van Dijk is the reason most teams don’t press LFC and commit too many men forward to stop them building. Superb range.

Now we have Thiago for a new source of supply while Henderson will be coming back as well from injury with his long balls.
If that doesn't work, then the full backs, if that doesnt work then we have our defensive striker Firmino starting the game from the back

I agree. Just about died when I saw a routine tackle bring out a yellow card for an Arsenal player, can't recall who.
But I can't tell what you're on about. They didn't miss any big pens or give Liverpool a CL final-esque handling call. They didn't give a soft red. Arsenal were thoroughly outclassed. Why complain about the ref?
