I'm sure there was a winger some years ago, who was converted to a full-back and was good in that position. I can't remember who I'm thinking of right now. Possibly a french or english player that played in the Prem? Ps. Not James Milner, although I suppose he is an example of that, too.

I had this french-sounding name in my head, but maybe I was thinking of these guys, good examples anyway.

And yeah, as much as I like to laugh at United's Sancho business, it's not inconceivable to turn wingers into fullbacks with success. Like, Trent Alex-Arnold is considered a great fullback for his attacking talent, but would he be a great winger? Who knows, but there's nothing wrong with being "just an offensive-minded fullback."

You can also add Dembele to the list of failures and Kroos to the list of successes. Some transfers work out, others don't. Sometimes physical fragility or tactical inflexibility is the issue, and not the lack of talent. The "fodder league" argument can be applied to any league outside of the EPL, and people do it, but it doesn't make sense Razz
