Re: European and Domestic Cups Discussion 2019/2020
4-0 FT. Team did everything to get Martinelli his hat-trick and Pepe a goal, but wasn't to be.
I was happier with the off the ball work in the second half. Ceballos especially was everywhere at once.
Martinelli was amazing. His running off the ball and work rate were exceptional, and he had end product as well. Want to see him get a chance in the PL soon.

Yea thought Ceballos was fantastic too. But the opposition would comfortably get relegated in the PL
Martinelli tracking back to his own half in the 80th minute said it all. Great attitude. Has the technique too.

That's the thing with these cup matches. They're fun, but the standard of opposition is so bad is impossible to judge how good Arsenal actually is.
At least the attitude was good.

Just watched the goals on the GL App. Again, Martinelli what a beautiful player. I wonder if he can play on the flanks, might have to consider him there if Pepe continues to misfire in the league.

Vitoria were so much better on the night it was painful. Good thing Pepe has been working on his free kicks.
I had no idea what Arsenal were trying to do tonight. Willock was so bad Maitland-Niles started playing CM but then he stunk the place up as well. Torreira looked lost, probably not even knowing what his role was at this point. I don't know what Emery wants from his midfield and by the looks of things he doesn't either.
Tbh, I don't see a long term future here for Willock and AMN. Their first touch isn't good enough to play in midfield. Willock has his uses as a runner and scorer but otherwise looks very limited, while AMN lacks the dribbling ability to play as a winger and doesn't want to be a defender. Not sure about Smith Rowe either but he's had his injuries.
Really, the only kids who look convincing are the two babies, Martinelli and Saka. And Guendouzi of course.

Smith Rowe has higher potential than Willock but injuries could ruin him. Let‘s hope he can push on. Still have high hopes for him. Maitland-Niles shouldn‘t be playing for us. Willock has squad player potential.

Looks like Ozil is back for tomorrows game, Emery must be desperate to win fans back.

Re: European and Domestic Cups Discussion 2019/2020
xG last night:
Liverpool 2.00 vs Arsenal 4.30.
And a big chunk of that Liverpool score was the penalty.
It's tough to evaluate because Liverpool played such a weakened team with kids in goal and in defence, but the "positive" for Arsenal was they consistently created good chances throughout the whole. Martinelli, especially, had four "big" chances, from which he converted twice.
And I daresay it had something to do with Ozil having a lovely game, but I don't want to jump to conclusions.
At the other end, Arsenal might consider themselves a tad unlucky due to the quality of some of Liverpool's goals. On the other hand, I thought Martinez was poor on both of Origi's goals.
I'm not disappointed because I had zero expectation for the game and didn't expect Arsenal to score once, let alone 5 times. But it does suck to go out after having a two goal lead at two different stages in the game.

I guess Ozil is back from exile, I am sure this is not something Emery wanted to see.
If Donkemery dont play him on the weekend it should be the end of his Arsenal managing career.

Listening to the game on the radio.
Overall, the game could be best described by an emphatic shrug. Sounds like nobody gave a fuck.
