We're trying in the PL as well, we're just shit lol. It's just that the teams we've faced in the EL so far are bottom of the PL/Championship level.

What's going wrong under Sarri according to you? Unless you've posted it before.

How do you allow shots on target as opposed to shots not on target?

Wasn't sure where to post this.
Van Gaal gave a brilliant interview to the BBC recently. Talks about United, Solskjaer, giving youth players a chance, and the Champions League.

Yea, like Ole could have just come and made us play all guns blazing, champagne football in every single match with the squad we have got. He has played defensive counterattacking football only in tougher games away from home and in home game against PSG. In comparison Mourinho parked the bus against the Brighton’s and West Hams of the world. Anyway everything the bitter old geezer is saying at least in this particular context carries little to no weight if he has the gall to then brand the football he was trying to implement at United as ‘attacking’.
Apart from that, yea, he made sense in a lot of things, the club is being run poorly by business men who look only for profits. We are in dire need of a tech director/DoF. Need to sort the mess out if we are nursing any hope of competing with a very ruthless and flawless City.

considering your recent form (Ole's tenure), I wouldn't care how your playing, you're winning and actually have a chance of top four now.
Next season will be when you can build towards more attractive football. For now, results matter more.

I doubt van Gaal has seen much of Man United's PL games under Ole. So he actually has no clue what he's talking about, but that's no surprise, because at this point van Gaal is so confident in his convictions that he does not need to check them with reality.
51% of what he says is total BS, honestly. The other 49% are always spot on.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
Van Gaal has no clue what Ole's doing at Man United right now tbh.
@Glory is right. With Ole we're not really parking the bus unless we face top teams. And even in those games, we've played much better in attack than we ever did with Van Gaal or Mourinho. We've played attacking football against Arsenal in the EPL and we could've won that game but it wasn't our day.
And Ole didn't give only 10 minutes to young players like he was suggesting. Even before the injuries he gave 60 minutes or more to young academy players. Van Gaal seems extremely frustrated.
I also agree with @Kick and @Hans the Hapless one.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
van Gaal despite his notable pioneering traits and astute footballing mind has always been notoriously overrated and it pains me to see him come up with yet another ignorant statement and I could not be more glad to see the Dutchman retire.
His Man United was shambolic and for him to make such an ill-sighted comment sums him up and I only remember him for his personality and quotes than him as a tactician.

What a great interview to read, I can't still imagine him not choosing Chelsea for the money or medals at his age.
This line was one of the most interesting: "It is the first time in my career I have not looked at 40 points and thought 'thankfully we have made that"
That said, having 3 keepers is a luxury.

Yea despite a mostly honest interview, the part about money was a bit hard to believe. Surely they offered the best wages out of anyone else.

My entire argument here, specifically including age and career length would be to retire with the best money possible because I don't really know what to do after playing professionally. I mean you have kids and a family by then.

The 3rd choice keeper is probably the worst job in football. You do all the training and never play a minute (competitively). Unless you get that gig as your last one - like in Green's case - it must absolutely suck.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
Quite frankly I find it pathetic that any grown man would settle for being in such a position unless he is committing to some other venture outside of his footballing life as you are being paid for as Robes said, nothing.
Reminds me of Chelsea fans praising Paulo Ferreira for committing to his permanent bench role in Chelsea and calling him loyal.
Yes cause being paid 100k pounds per week in a Top Club for only training for matches you will seldom see because you are not good enough, is such a noble cause.
That being said Green was a better GK than he was given credit for.

Not quite as pathetic as a grown man complaining on the internet about another grown man being a 3rd choice professional goalkeeper.
Out of the two, there's only one job that needs to be done, really, and it isn't the one you are doing, Arq

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
I have found a complaint in how the circular formation round table idea in the San Siro locker room (for Milan) is Berlusconi's concept of bringing attention to his outlandish motivational sessions. Football brings out the bitter little man in me stark contrast to outside my viewership of it and it will only continue as I see endless frustration from two clubs I support who have only brought as such.
So indeed yes my grown ass complaining of Rob Greene's finished career settling for a permanent bench role is just as pathetic if not MORE like me hoping for Juventus to lose in the Champions League as a coping method for Milan's further pathetic consecutive failures. Thank you for pointing out the obvious Hansy.

Scott Parker has Fulham managed the way he played.
