If there's such a thing as an embarrassing win, this was it lol.

Our midfield play was pathetic (not their fault given tactics). Our forwards were pathetic after Benz went out.

we've gone through this a million times on this forum....well, we'll go through it a million and 1 more time. this team is absolute trash, and if you need a lesson in how to plan things extremely poorly, what we've done in the past summer should be the introductory course

Zidane didn't impress anyone when he coached our Castilla team, either. First team football and Castilla football are relatively different job circumstances.

I have heard alot of good things about this Crsto kid but my God he was awful today

Zidane was a good coach at Castilla...  his problem was that Flo forced players on him mid season (we had taken over first place with Castilla) and there was drama around that... you know... the Odegaard fiasco.  He refused to practice with Castilla because his contract said he didn't have to... and to keep him, Zidane was forced to start him again per his contract.

It splintered that Castilla side as all the other kids were pissed off. So they went of the rails for about 6 weeks until they finished the season well again.

Solari was the worse coach in Castilla history as a FYI.

Solari with the guts for ffs once all the players are fit this is the intensity that you need to play with, let solari do what he wants to do put some pressure on the players, pressure, compact defending for 90 mins, the team can do much more, would say the same even with a draw.

Regullion was very bad on the ball today. Too nervous , he needs to calm the fk down while on the ball.

Casemiro was awful. Llorente should be starting.

good game, the first half was great, team unity + defending, should have been 2-0 at the break.

Losing Benzema was a big blow, Cristo was not good at all.

then after the goal, Solari changes up the tactics and we get the win. This is a mature performance realized at the back of kids.

@hala, its not the formation alone, its everything. coach (i have my reasons but i include lope in the blame too, sorry demon), formation, and personnel. like come on, this isn't a real madrid side.

playing wing back is not the same as playing fullback. Reguillon doesnt have a lot of skills to be a dangerous wingback, at least not yet, he is still a young kid.

I can't stand Casemiro anymore, he has become slow and painful to watch in possession.

Completely different Scenario and personality. Zidane had great man management skill, Professionalism . Was one of the greatest player of all time he earned a huge respect from player. I doubt Solari command same Respect from players, not as a former player not as a great manager .either.

Vini doesn't terrorize anyone. Nobody has seen him so his first halfs (or as a sub, his few mins), he can really play to his strengths. But once teams scout him, or adjust like today, his tendencies are very very pronounced. He's a kid so he's raw... but with a lot of talent.

I HOPE we don't put to much pressure on him because he's going to get found out really soon here and that's normal.

Spot on Nick so many injuries, a team with a lot of youngsters saw out a tough away win wasn't pretty, but losing benzema crippled the team,need another cf asap.

Like you, I watched quite a lot of their games at the time, when they supposedly had a pretty good crop of players, and it was not pretty to look at most of the time. Maybe it's normal for our Castilla, but often times individual players seemed to do their own thing, as opposed to following any tactical setup. I only watched them to keep tabs on Ødegaard's progress, but it wasn't what I would call coherent and fluid football.

Canales was offside by the way, i dont care what they say, they did not even show the image from VAR confirming the goal. what a joke

Don't care what anyone says, Benzema is being an striker and playmaker at the same time. he is the most creative player we have. not an elite goalscorer but our most important player in attack.

Marcelo wouldnt have worked as hard as Reguillon, sometimes football comes down to doing simple things like running not stop, being disciplined.

In our last game the other team's manager said they were targetting marcelo because they know he is not in shape lmao, this is another team's coach ffs.

The only players solari has a problem with is isco and asensio both have been bad.
