Huesca v Real Madrid
Real Madrid squad for Huesca: Navas, Casilla, Courtois, Carvajal, Vallejo, Ramos, Varane, Odriozola, Javi Sanchez, Modric, Valverde, M. Llorente, Asensio, Isco, Ceballos, Benzema, Bale, Lucas Vazquez and Vinicius Jr.
Do we have any players left?
Probable line up:
Would've liked for Reguillon to have been available this game, alas we have to make do with an unnatural LB

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
great play from Marcos Llorente on that goal. he is really showing how having a mobile and better bal playing DM makes a difference. dribbling in traffic and extending the play. nice finish from bale, aand odriozola with an assist (finally completed a cross lol)

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
Huesca are bullying our players. Would be nice to see Modric outmuscle a guy for once this season. I don't blame the attack too much, they are far too outnumbered and the midfield isn't pushing up to help. Isco needs to come on for Modric, he's really irritating me with his lackluster performances. Alot of huffing and puffing from Ceballos but he really needa to take control. Llorente saving everyone's asses left, right and center. God bless him and Casemiro, without them we'd concede 5 goals every game

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
Modric is in too poor a physical shape to play imo. i hope we shut him down over the winter break, no CWC, if not this season is going to be a wash for him

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
If you want physical presence in the midfield, you dont bring Isco on. Valverde is the only midfielder of that type we have on the bench.
and i think Ceballos has been dog shit today, worse than modric

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
I’m not very big on Solari, but one positive about him is clear. He has shown, reluctantly apparently in case of Llorente, that the bench is more than capable of playing for Real. It’s just a matter of giving them sufficient playing time to build their confidence and be in “playing” shape. Tito has regularly suggested we need competition at all positions. Well, I say Solari has shown that we do in fact have the talent for that (except CF), but we need coaches to Use that competition for the betterment of team, instead of constantly giving unmotivated, out of shape or poor performing veterans that sense of entitlement!

I am getting a bit tired of saying this, but dang we are so bad. Thank goodness for Courtois.

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
our midfielders are so soft... when they are not in peak physical conditions to dominate with their technique, they get overwhelmed easily

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
It's really pathetic. I am surprised Huesca haven't equalized. I think over the entire course of the match (so far), we have maybe had 2 minutes of play I would be proud of.
I also feel I'm being a bit generous by saying 2 minutes, and that is sad.

it was a mediocre game. under Lopetegui this would have been a sure loss

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
God almighty. We got dominated all game. Felt like watching Marcelo on the right. Did Odri keep out any attacks?
Lucas good for nothing this game. Rubbish, absolute rubbish. Modric likewise, Solari carrying on with his beef with Isco despite us being up against the wall putting on Valverde when it should've been Isco

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
This match was a legit shit show from our perspective. From a Huesca's perspective, if they actually showed effort like this throughout the season, I do no think they'll be last in the table with 7 measly points.
Not much good I can think of bar 3 points which all that matters but still, a shit show of frustrating proportions. I suspect Benzema is gonna take heat from this but from my viewing, he barely got anything to work with.
But the play of the day is Asensio hitting a cross field ball in front the opposition box right onto the path of the Huesca player in our own half. Hala blushed with that one.

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
we dont have box to box midfielders in the team, something i dont understand.
the midfield needs more revamp than the attack if you ask me, too many AMs, and they get dominated in these away games when the other team plays physical.

Would be nice too if Varane finally learns to direct a defensive header to a teammate and not the opposition player

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
I missed the game, but I see Ceballos didn't perform well, and it would make sense for him to be tired by now, considering his explosive playing style, and how much he's been playing lately. It's good that we won, at least. I hope our players managed to conserve some energy for the next match, which is against CSKA Moskva in 3 days.

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
Ceballos has spotty decision making when playing so deep in midfield. And he is not a very good playmaker, coming to the ball to create plays, he is not good at it.
We just have a lot of attacking midfielders that we try to fit in the midfield like CMs and it doesnt work, specially when Kroos and Casemiro are not around.

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
Ndombele is physical... but his work ethic is a bit questionable as a FYI Nick. A ton of talent; but there's a red flag there.
We really need a bull athletic midfielder that will come in hungry and has it all. I may get a lot of slack for this... but paying 100 mil for Pogba would be a great idea for me. He would come in with a chip on is shoulder and a ton to prove. It would be like buying Salah, De Bruyne, Modric or Hazard when they were in a massive slump under Mou. Get these guys while they're undervalued. I'd even go for Bailly and Martial if I could. Heck, Lukaku would be useful too lol.
Send Mou Modric, Bale and Benzema in exchange.

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
Im not worried about Ndombele's work ethic, i have not heard anything bad about it. and as far as pogba vs Ndombele in terms of physical mid, for the price, the discipline, the drama, the actual work rate on the pitch, Ndombele is a way better proposition. Pogba has proven he can't lead a team, i dont think he has something we need

That being said, Llorente with that 7.3 rating and another good showing as a DM. Too bad his other mids were rubbsih.

Re: Huesca v Real Madrid
You don't watch Nbombele enough Nick... you likely only started seeing him this year. His fitness was a massive concern last year and, although it seems he's fixed it this season... I'll wait to see how he performs for the full campaign.
And his shooting is suspect... although he's supremely talented if he can commit properly.
