Fernandinho ate those three scrubs in midfield alive. Aguero ended Lovren. Why Klopp relies on these bellends is beyond me. At least with Lovren, he does not have any option but that midfield? Imagine leaving 140 million on the bench for that gash

Fernandinho was a boss today, ruined us single handedly.

Tbf to Klopp and I'm being serious here.
Last year those same scrubs outperformed Fernandinho, if anything I'd make the argument he was a weak link for City.
Also the 0-0 draw was kind of a wash when it comes to midfield superiority.
Obviously a good manager job is to change something before it becomes obvious but before today against City it wasn't openly obvious they shouldn't stick with it.
If he sticks with it next time he should be criticised though.

Yeah I have to agree. Fabinho and especially Keita were signed to improve on that rigid Milner-Henderson-Wijnaldum midfield. You gotta take chances to win big and today Klopp lacked the balls to do that.

Congrats to City. A huge victory and a huge moral boost after two consecutive defeats.
Liverpool had a golden chance to run away with the league but they didn't. They'll regret this somewhere down the road. They're still first but their morals have definitely taken a serious hit today.
Anyway, the title is still up for grabs. Everything points at City winning it again, but I really want Liverpool to finally end their three-decade-long drought.
Come on, bleed for it. For once in your lives, finish the race as winners and don't flinch.

What they did in the first game this season worked fine, they were just unlucky.
Liverpool will win easily.
This is just beautiful.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
Klopp should have played Fabinho from the start as Fabinho showed what he is about vs Napoli, amazing player, IMO one of the best DMs in the world.
Then again, he wanted security as a draw would have sufficed.
But tbh I just don't rate Henderson that highly, and mostly depth in CB position is Liverpool's problem. Van Dijk and Gomez are a great pairing but every other CB is a problem. Lovren is a problem. Matip is a problem.
Will be a great pleasure to kick them out of CL

Goes to show you're not a Pep expert.
Let me tell you from experience Pep fucks up about 80% of his big game lineups, and then usually goes on to still win it due to making in game changes.
This time was one of the 20% where he gets it right from the start

Yeah but if i only bring up it every few months i can never be wrong
I'll now go away for a while now and come back when the fact they've won is forgotten

Are you still bitter about Pep benching Mueller? Because we all saw what happened when he finally started a big game

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
That was a great game for us neutrals, that's for sure.
Some takeways:
- I hope Alisson doesn't get any stick for getting beat at his far post. That would be a bit disrespectful to Sane's strike. It was extremely well taken.
- Lovren's the scapegoat in that defense, but with better midfield cover he'd have been much less exposed. Klopp has to know he has a mistake him at this level by now. I don't blame VVD for being frustrated, especially near the end of the match.
- Fabinho is a straight up baller and really should be getting some starts. Liverpool looked so much calmer in midfield when he came on.
- City need to put Fernandinho in a hyperbolic time chamber. Keep him exactly at this age for as long as possible. He was really showing out today.
- Bernardo Silva was super impressive, in nearly every facet of the game.
- Battle between Sterling and Robertson was was my favorite match up. Very entertaining.

Fernandinho was great but Bernardo was the player of the game for me and it wasn't really close.
Offensively and defensively he was the difference in that midfield for me.

Seeing Fernandinho's performance yesterday once again bemuses me in how shit he was against Belgium and almost single-handedly lost Brazil the game.

another big game and we lose it. klopp is a good manager and liverpool are a good team but in the vert big games we come up short. this was pretty much a cup final for us and we lost it like every other cup final. its a shame its a club like city that will win it again.
