Warframe

Thought I'd recommend this game to those who play Destiny 2 and don't want to pay for it. (because of lack luster DLC among other things)

This is a free to play, no pay to win game. I highly recommend it to those who love Destiny 2 but are tired of continuesly paying for DLC when it's not worth the money most of the time. It's more fun, more content, just as beautiful and more importantly it's NOT a dead game. It's been around for 8 years and it's evolved so much since then. Still active, PvP matchmaking doesn't take forever etc.

Just started playing it since two days ago and I'm never coming back to Destiny 2 again after this.

I've only heard good things about Warframe, but RG didn't seem to like it very much. Then again, RG only needs a poorly put together teaser/trailer to determine whether or not he thinks a game is broken beyond repair

I put like 70 hrs into it on PC and barely scratched the surface, I got burnt out because I'm too lazy to put absurd time into it and a lot of the goals I had would have required loooooooong time

BUT

It's 100% probably the perfect loot based game and absurd fun when you play with others

the game got a lot of shit in the early days but if you search it up on YT you will find countless videos of people returning to it years later and being in awe of the amount of content

it's also not even P2W at all, from what I recall you can basically get every kind of loot in the game with a little grinding (not an insane amount)

definitely not just one of the best F2P games of all time but probably one of the best gaming experiences around nowadays, if you're willing to invest the time into it. Still being constantly updated too and only growing in popularity.

100% everyone I know that's played this and Destiny 2 just laugh at the latter. WF is 100x the game to them. It does EVERYTHING a co-op loot based game should do perfectly.

if I were super into loot based games - I'd been playing this forever, I imagine. But aside from single player RPG's I mostly prefer my gaming experiences short and sweet nowadays.

also, Warframe's combat/movement is 'easy to learn, hard to master' a quote I saw which is 100% accurate. If/when you get competent with moving fluidly though, it's so damn satisfying to play.

Warframe's combat is whole lotta more fun because you move like a ninja with a gun basically. There are stealth mechanics in this game too, which is fun but kind of uses dumb mechanics, most of the time you are invincible to them as long as you are not blatantly infront of them. I prefer it that way though tbh, I've never been good at stealth games anyway

It got open world nowadays, and hoverboards etc. HONESTLY seems like Destiny 2 copied their formula at the beginning and now Warframe is the ones who copying Destiny.

Most importantly it's F2P which means alot if you are playing with your friends. And the game isn't dead, you can find a PvP match within 2 minutes, which is something that takes forever in Destiny. Only thing I dislike is you need a good clan to get benefits but thats the same thing in Destiny 2

How's the enemy AI? I played, enjoyed it a lot except the AI a year or so ago was just unplayable for me, way too many derpy moments to enjoy the grind

It's like you said, it's derpy but it seems to get "harder" as you progress. Like stealth mechanics actually require you to play cautious in higher levels.
