I think it‘s time to blame GM Daryl Morey for the mess he created in this off season. Decided to deplete the depth of the squad and sign ZERO good replacements.

Somehow a undrafted rookie became a legitimate wing depth option. Another rookie is the only option as the backup center for D‘Antoni as Marquese Chriss is fucking trash (another Morey gem). Man signed MCW ffs as the only option behind 33 year old Chris Paul. Man signed Melo and expected him to defend. James Ennis is not fit to replace Trevor Ariza, who had a plus-minus of -17 against possibly the worst team in the league. Trash. Man signed no one who can give 33 year old PJ Tucker some rest, he played 40 minutes against the Cavs.

Unacceptable moves after taking possibly the best NBA team of all time to a 7 game series.

^ Yes, the Rockets' supporting cast is pretty bad, but so is that possibly-the-best-team-of-all-time's. Maintaining balanced team's in the NBA is hard because of how the contracts work.

It‘s not easy but signing walking memes like MCW and Melo sure does not increase your chances does it? Or you know if you can‘t sign someone better then just pay the existing squad, but nah they cheaped out.

I‘m still baffled at the whole Melo thing, when he was signed did Morey not know that he is basically finished and should not be considered as a starter? Did they not talk at all about the role he‘s going to have? Why waste an entire summer to sign him if you don‘t accept his downside?

None of the moves he made this summer made any sense at all and I don‘t have faith that he can pull something off before the deadline.

The kid is incredible.

On the Marvin Bagley note, he's looking better of late. I don't think he'll ever be a superstar, but I've always thought he'll be a damn good player. Picking him over Luka is hilarious, but there has been a lot of negativity sent his way and I don't think it's warranted. He's a good player. Trae has shown potential in different ways too.

I think this rookie class has a lot of potential. They're raw but they're all having an impact and have a lot of room to grow. Young too.

Luka's polish makes Trae, Bagley, Ayton look worse than they are. Although Ayton looks pretty good other than being awful at defense

I don't know if it's right to compare Doncic to the other rookies. He's played, what, three years at Real Madrid already. I think that gives him an advantage over these guys who came from college basketball.
