Breaking a game of basketball down to quarters isn't that telling. Statistics make sure that someone is always going to stand out for this reason or another. The Pelicans are 9th in their conference and that's that.

I was just pointing the difference between first half and second halfs and used these tweets to explain it.

None of those tweets even mention quarter by quarter lol except the defensive rating ones.

They gotta find a way to start stronger. They are making adjustments well, which is a very good sign, but -8.7 net to start the 1st half, +10.2 to start the 2nd half is crazy. They'd be killing teams if they were at least mediocre in the 1st.

Besides if you watched the games the eye test breaks it down in much the same way, i was just using them to try and explain it because it's easier.

How do we explain the overall improvement throughout the league this season. Watching Memphis and Clippers now, both with unexpectedly good starts to the season.
Just the offensive rule changes? Does that mean players are naturally more offensively skilled and offensively minded, and defense depends more on coaching?

It’s a small sample size but I’d simply say the league is overall very talented and competitive bar a small handful of trash teams (y’all know who they are).

The hot starts of the have nots is coupled with poorer starts by “better” teams like Houston and overall, making a very fun regular season which is all we can ask for

They’re def in the top 8 teams in the league imo. Also most West teams are very good. Aside from GSW all teams are on such an equal playing field this year.

Obviously there's room for analyzing teams, players and their performances, but breaking the table down to 1st half table and 2nd half table doesn't provide any more meaningful info than the actual table, imo.

This might be the weirdest thing ever.

To have this be the first actual top athlete to be known as non-straight guy, and be outed in this way. It's absolutely wild. Or wait. Didn't Ronaldo, Robinho etc. have a similar thing going?

Hopefully some good can come of this, because I see so much transphobic shit right now, when it should be on the threats, violence etc. being hurled towards.
