Re: European and Domestic Cups Discussion 2018/2019
Wish someone would kick out Chelsea.
Hopefully we can win with a big result at home. Can't see us winning away.

@RG - On paper, Benfica looks with the best chance to stop Chelsea from reaching the final. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make it. They are very inconsistent with Sarri, so you can't really bet on Chelsea beating anyone even after a 5-0 win against Dynamo Kyiv.
Arsenal has to prove to themselves how capable they are and needs to put a strong performance both home and away in a difficult tie. For many players, it will be a good chance to shine. They'd better take it. Winning EL would be a big breath of oxygen for Emery in my opinion. Maybe Arsenal fans don't care so much about this trophy. You have to tell me.

I care about it because I've never seen Arsenal lift a European trophy, though I fear that for many it'd be a lot like winning the FA Cup. Everyone will be happy until the transfer window opens and then all eyes will be on the major prizes again.

Yea it's the same for me. EL would be the biggest trophy we have won since the PL in 2004. Eventhough it's the EL and not CL, seeing us win a European trophy for the first time would be huge.

Best way to put it.
Unfortunately i think consistent top 4 is gone. Only Man City is capable of it now. Rest of the team (including Liverpool IMO) aren't guaranteed anymore.
But yea, would be so good to go back to the CL.

Re: European and Domestic Cups Discussion 2018/2019
I think we're reaching a point where fans have to reconsider what a good season looks like. Not getting into the top four is still seen as a failure but we're effectively in competition with three other teams with comparable resources and talent while two other teams are above even that level.
In 2016/17 we got 75 points with 23 wins out of 38 yet we all thought it was a bad season because it was only good enough for fifth. We missed out on CL football by a point. The margins are so small that it doesn't feel right to use them to determine how good a season was.
Even this year, we could win seven of our last eight games, reach 81 points with 25 games won and still finish outside the top four on goal difference. And the season would then be considered below expectation. It's mental when you think about it.

Thanks for the answers!
I agree with everything you've said Jay. I have to say that winning EPL at this point is an incredible achievement if you are not Man City. Obviously, they put a lot of effort into it and Guardiola is working his ass off to win the title, but they basically have two top teams in one squad.
