Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion
Meanwhile the best thing we've done is loan someone we had on loan last year.....
These *bleep* extract the joy out of everything. Getting a player we already had, but only on loan because 'we can't afford him' apparently. They're the Dementors from Harry Potter.

Why are we counting Keita monetarily in this window even though we paid the money upfront 2 years back?

Because you're buying the league obviously and such disgusting behavior should be documented.

Ye can already see Jay adding 54m GL tax for Keita this year. 54m two years back and now 54m, making it 108m but still better than Jogba

Because that was how it was listed on Transfermarkt.com
You didn't register the player until this transfer period, so technically the transfer counts for this window even if it was agreed last summer.

Also, that fee varied depending on how RB Leipzig finished the season so Liverpool couldn't have paid it until this summer.

Would have been on top the base fee, can't delay payment by 2 years to confirm the transfer. Sad propaganda!

High Court awards League order to block illegal streams:
https://www.premierleague.com/news/787656?sf194043513=1
RIP PL streams.
Order will force UK's major ISPs to tackle servers hosting illegal streams of Premier League matches
The Premier League has been granted a significant High Court Order that will enable it to disrupt and block illegal streams of its content across the whole of the next football season.
On 19 July 2018, Justice Arnold granted an Order that will require the UK’s major internet service providers (ISPs) – including Sky, BT, Virgin Media, TalkTalk, plusnet and EE – to block and disrupt servers that host illegal streams of the Premier League’s matches.
A similar Order was granted for the entirety of the 2017/18 season and was hugely successful, enabling the League to disrupt or block nearly 200,000 illegal streams of its content.
This new Order is enhanced and will allow us to block more servers in a more effective manner.
The League’s wider anti-piracy programme is one of the most compressive in the world and saw hugely successful results in 2017/18, including 450,000 illegal clips of Premier League content being removed from social and digital media outlets.
Targeted investigations into suppliers of illicit streaming devices (ISDs) have resulted in significant criminal convictions.
Only last week a Premier League and FACT investigation led to a supplier of ISDs and an illegal streaming service being jailed for five years.
"Last season the Premier League operated one of the biggest and most successful anti-piracy programmes in the world and this decision by the High Court is a significant factor in being able to continue that approach," Premier League Director of Services, Kevin Plumb, said. "A similar Order granted last year was a game-changer for our work in this area, enabling us to block or disrupt nearly 200,000 illegal streams across the 2017/18 season.
"The ability that Premier League clubs have to develop and acquire talented players, to build and improve stadiums and to support communities and schools, is predicated on being able to market, sell and protect commercial rights.
"This makes the protection of our copyright hugely important to the future health of English football and beyond."

Impossible to block them afaik. They can try though.
Maybe people wouldn't have to stream if they just start showing 3pm matches on tv?

I'm curious. They can block/disrupt servers based outside UK? Or will it be limited to streaming within the UK?
How would ISPs have any power over content being broadcasted from a server beyond its jurisidiction?

I took an extended sabbatical till AW left - thought I'd start watching games after he left. Kinda lost interest in football in the meantime, what with it being a slave to monies and stuff. Still unsure of how much I will be watching next season. So the streaming stuff comes back into question, it doesn't make any sense to pay craploads to dazn or Sky or wtv if I watch a handful of games tops.
Also, GL is blocked at my new workplace - so I only lurk when I am home.

Can't wait for Emery's Arsenal to shove Tottenham back down out of the top 4 where they belong.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion
I can actually fathom us returning to the top 4 this season. I believe we have the team to do it, it's all about just getting the mentality right in the squad and obviously hoping we get off to a good start to the season (by that I mean the first 10-15 games, not the first two )
I can't wait to see Emery's tactics and philosophy on the style of play. If anything we needed after Wenger, it is someone that demands one hundred percent effort on the pitch day after day. If he can instil that fight in every player, we can do it. I think this season will also show a lot of which players Wenger truly couldn't get the best out of, so that's another thing I am looking forward to.
