Re: Biggest flops of the season
Jese takes the cake for me, signed to replace Arnautovic and failed miserably.
Krychowiak is another, as is Schneiderlin, Klaason, Keane, and the rest over at Everton.
Bakayoko, Pedro and to a degree, Morata for Chelsea. Luiz has been perma injured but didn't flop, just didn't preform to the elite standards of last season.

Oh yeah, Wimmer, lmao. Can't understand for the life of me what about his handful of mediocre performances for Tottenham made Stoke sign him for £18m. They deserved to go down for that signing alone.

Eric Baily surely.
How can somebody go from best defender the universe has ever seen to 8 glorious seconds without touching the ball at the London Stadium to negate the seismic threat of a David Moyes Coached West Ham Strike Force.
But what an 8 seconds, he didn't f**k up once!!!

Re: Biggest flops of the season
Surely they'd have been better off signing Atom and Humber instead. Would have saved £500K a week of pure ding, could have parlayed that cash into a premium Pedigree Chum diet and been rewarded with more goals and assist ratio to boot. Probably would have sold more shirts too at their Hypermarket.

chemicalgirl pls, disappeared when Pool humiliated your mercenaries and we thumped you at home a few days later with that same Bailly playing
I'd like to put forth Aymeric Laporte, signed for 65m in January and literally nobody besides me even remembers he plays for you

Has Krychowiak really been a flop? He played under Pardew who was benching him because of his own stupidity. I'd love to have him at LFC next season.. would be a good backup/rotation option.

He has, WBA have been a shambles, but you have to remember the reason he is there is because he flopped at PSG. He's been worse at WBA, than PSG.

What is the point of Matic? 1 goal and 1 assist in 35 games and he doesn't even help provide the best defensive record in the division with I daresay very average whoscored 7.20.
Now lets compare that scrub with a proper holding midfielder playing for the team with the best defensive record in the premier league. 5 goals and 3 assists with a gargantuan 7.44 whoscored rating.

Thats because he's part of the best defence in the premier league and as we are always attacking you don't see him much on your 14" black and white television when our highlights which there are many are played each week and beamed over to Canada.
He's also a centur100n which automatically means his status is now legendary.

I'm all for labeling Dembele the biggest flop of the season if that means Barca will sell him to Bayern at a price of say 50m-80m €

Lol keep dreaming. Bayern can't afford him.
If klopp will pay 75m for a cb how much will he pay for Dembele? 150m?

Oh yeah there were some rumours about that. I hope Klopp is actually keen to sign Dembele and pay at least 100M.
Dembele is still a great talent and still warrants a fee this high.

Suarez easily, I've never seen player not know how to touch football or pass play so many games. Could've also scored 80 goals with the amount of chances he wasted.

Bayern COULD easily pay 150m if they wanted to.

Re: Biggest flops of the season
At the end of the day it doesn't much matter if Bayern have the money and don't want to spend it or if they simply don't want to spend it. How much is their top transfer? 40m? Perfectly average players go for that these days.
If they keep to that kind of strategy pretty soon they will get priced out by mid table PL teams.

So what? We'll do just as well, or rather better, with our midprice strategy as other clubs with their record spending.
Which were the crazy money transfers in recent seasons?
Di Maria, Martial, Pogba, Neymar, Dembele, Morata?
All monumental flops for those prices, basically. Even spending 90m € on Higuain didn't improve Juventus one bit.

Re: Biggest flops of the season
Martial still hasn't hit all of his targets for us to pay Monaco more. Just like Renato won't end up costing you 80m.
if Martial was a flop then Sanches was a monumental flop, for their prices.
Bayern will DEFINITELY decline with their current model. Being carried by a lot of the old guard, even now, well, old as in signed when prices were normal. Can see that with their failure to replace Robbery.

I'm not denying Sanches was a monumental flop for us.
But he cost 35m €, while Martial cost you 70m €.
We'll continue with our strategy, you continue with yours. Let's see who'll fare better shall we?
Somehow I'm not afraid

Bayern will just end up increasing their transfer budget to whatever the mid-range in this inflated market is. They'll be fine.
