Elber v Makaay v Lewa
Who was the best striker for Bayern in the past 20 years?

No way. Luca Toni had 1 top year with Bayern and that was it. Granted it was a fantastic one... but the other guys put a few elite years together.

Great thread.
This is actually a very close call.
At this point, I tend to agree it probably has to be Elber. The combination of quality, longevity and his being part of a more iconic team with his iconic contribution edges it.
Lewa, of course, can still add to his already impressive tally, he's got the best quota and might in the end be considered the best.
However, Roy Makaay happens to be my personal favourite of the three, one my favourite Bayern players ever. His finishing was pure world class, and his goals were beauty beyond comparison, because they were so unbelievably simple, dry and straight forward
This guy would receive a pass and just BAAM, it was a goal, not even spectacular, just straightforward with force.
His goals were so dry and humourless, they actually became hilarious. I love this guy.

If all (sorts) of threads are going to be cramped here, I wonder why we have the other sections. Just saying

Elber sounds like a fraud. No one with that name can be good.
makaay was the dutch defoe
Lewa is the clear answer.

Makaay was great lol, amazing for Super Depor too.
Elber is Bayern's Pauleta though tbh.

Re: Elber v Makaay v Lewa
Elber actually was a pretty good striker and is the only one to actually have won the UCL with Bayern (6 goals in that UCL campaign that year). But I can't help but pick Makaay out of the 3.
Also, you wanna put a poll Sports?!

Didnt follow Bayern back then, but thing with Elber and Makaay was they didnt feature much for their national teams since there were others ahead of them as choice, and also when u were naming best strikers in the world in those days, them two were no where near the front runners of being mentioned iirc. Lewand though beats them both in that, and must be the better all rounder footballer. Pretty sure if Lewand stays a few more years and continues what he does he will overtake for sure.

Scolari got a lot of abuse for not calling up Elber and Jardel. Got carried by the three Rs.
