Inside Man (2006)
Weak delivery to a strong start is the best way to put it.
Decent film. Denzel stole the show as always.

I actually liked him better in Inside Man, but yeah he was phenomenal in Children of Men.
Hell I think my favorite role of his was Dwight in Sin City.

Audition (1999)
Lol. I didn't think a film would ever creep me out or make me unsettled but this one just did. I have no idea wtf I just watched but it has to be one of the most unsettling films i have ever seen.
This was so messed up that i don't even know if i liked the film or not. I read that Tarantino described it as "A true masterpiece as there ever can be one" Not surprised he said that since the directing style was very much like his.
It's actually a fantastic directing. But Miike is a well known name for that.
But I don't know what to think of the film overall lol.
I can't rate this one.

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
need to watch more Miike movies, he made the first two live actions for Crows/Worst, that manga I'm a fan of and surprisingly they were great for what they were and nailed the atmosphere of the series. Heard he's made a few other really good movies adapted from manga. And we know how difficult that is to do. Most end up terrible.
Heard he has another really unsettling movie RG, based on a disgustingly violent manga called Ichi the Killer.

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
Yea he seems to be a legendary director in Japan. I'll check out that one.
regarding Audition, read about it and thought about it more. It really is a crazy film. So much red herring. You don't know what to believe. That one part (man in the bag) nearly made me stop watching it lol. Fml.

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
Three Billboards had two amazing performances, but the movie itself was really nothing special. Good enough, but I have no idea why it's winning anything.

Next years Oscar trail starts at Sundance today.
Most excited for Paul Dano’s directorial debut in the 20th
Gyllenhaal and Mulligan in the leads

Interesting - Paddington 2 is RT's highest ever rated film. 100% score from 164 reviews. Surpasses Toy Story 2.

The first one is great. So full of incredible warmth.
Can’t wait for the second, but it’s only in the cinema in dubbing. Can’t watch that

Taken (2008)
Watched it for the first time after hearing hype for it for like 10 years. What a thoroughly mediocre film lol. It didn't even have any great performances. Action was average as well. Quite boring for an action thriller. The entire film could be summed up as "Seems legit"
6.8/10

He’s an actor with one good role in 40 years. No need to watch anything with him really. Other than Schindler’s List which is one of the greatest because of basically everything but him.
Still can’t believe Ralph Fiennes didn’t win that Oscar
