A short CL run just increases the credibility of this thread tbh

Re: Whomstd Will Stop Napoli from Winning the Scudetto?
I said it it was a good thread.
Unreal numbers so far ppl : 8 wins in a row . And 8 on 8.
And 26 goal scored. It mean 3+ goals every match .
So if Napoli win also against Inter at home ( Inter don't win there since '97, and they often lose it ) , they ' d get 9 wins in a row (!) , and that's after having played against the two Roman teams - both away - and Inter.
The last match was relevant too . Basically they won it after having almost walked for a hour. At Roma.
Impossibile to underrate it, we're observing something of relevant.
Perhaps it still misses the general perception of the phenomenon.

Re: Whomstd Will Stop Napoli from Winning the Scudetto?
@Warrior, @Luca and I have been on this since preseason.
They now score the most and concede the least. That's a big improvement in defense.
They are made to win Serie A. The first season they lost because of lack of depth. The second because we signed Higuain and Milik got injured. Now they look complete. If Mertens or Insigne don't get a bad injury, then they can definitely do it. Milik is out again but they will get Inglese in January, perhaps he can be more reliable. They didn't even want to let go of Giaccherini just to have depth for when they need it.

Funny how this was posted on october 14th, one day before i supposedly invented comments like these after Juve loss... not that i disagree.
In fact my opinion, for what it's worth, summarizes the comments of Rincon, Luca and Rob all at the same time:
"Napoli is the best team in Italy on paper, on stats and on the field, people don't take them seriously because of historical reasons but in reality the only way they'd lose the title is a major choke combined with Juve getting its shit together."
Last year nobody would guess Monaco could win Ligue 1, the gap was too big between them and QSG. It still happened. Now the gap of talent between Juve and Napoli is nonexistent, if not in favor of Napoli since we lost Bonucci, bought MDS and play Mandzukic on the wing.
Juventus is perceived as elite, nearly invincible and Napoli is perceived as somewhat provinciale, second-tier, less credible. Reality =/= perception. When we lost against Lazio many people realized it.

You guys are trying to get me to defend a team I passionately dislike but I'll let it ride

Re: Whomstd Will Stop Napoli from Winning the Scudetto?
Allegri just got his mind back, he was deluded for 3 months before... so let's be patient please.
Last time i checked the rankings, we were 1 pt behind and Inter/Roma left to play. Napoli also have 3 "tricky" games, and we don't know if this defeat will affect their morale. Now maybe some of you guys have seen a different match than me, because what i saw was a NAPOLI domination
Give this thread a reprieve until match day 19. Juve certainly won this battle but nobody can say that "Juve have won the war" yet

*bleep* Karma for those assholes throwing all their eggs into the league basket as per usual.
Genuinely want Milan to replace them and even Inter too, get them out the top 4 asap.

lol as if Juve were ever not winning it this season. Especially since they can focus on the league when Spurs knock 'em out of the CL. I believe in Sami Khedira.

Not sure if I should be happy that Roma won (they could yet miss out on CL spot) or angry that Napoli lost (this definitely puts a spanner in their title challenge).
JJ is the winner without playing.

Re: Whomstd Will Stop Napoli from Winning the Scudetto?
So what now Napoli???
Maurizio Sarri is leaving. Who is going to fill-in???
Jorginho, and possibly few others, will be leaving.
Some the key players are beyond 30.
So what now Napoli???
Are they going to remain a CL contender or are they, gradually, going to slip into mid-table obscurity or worse???

Re: Whomstd Will Stop Napoli from Winning the Scudetto?
Talks of Ancelotti or Simone Inzaghi replacing Sarri, who I think will leave. Either on his own accord or because someone will pay his release clause (8M or something)
Jorginho will leave for big money, serious talks of Hamsik leaving. It could be the summer Mertens leaves and other players like Koulibaly and Hysaj are steadily linked with exits- but none of this means anything right now.
It remains to be seen. The landscape in Serie A is a competitive top four right now and that's with a Milan team that is non existent.
Napoli does smart business though, losing Sarri will be the biggest blow they'll have to recover from and it's a classic ADL move if I've ever seen one. After that, they have a talented squad with players like Zielinski and Diawara among an insane midfield core (their strength along with Insigne, Mertens and Koulibaly). They'll probably sign Torreira for 25M if they sell Jorginho, which would be a great signing and with funds leftover they can do some damage on the market I bet.
I don't think they're going anywhere but I don't think they'll be as close to the scudetto next season without Sarri and without investment
