He does have a point though, if the socios wanted Bartomeu out, they would have kicked him out already. It's a club run by socios and not some oil sheikh so everytime people attack Bartomeu and blame him for their lack of success, I cringe. First off cuz Bartomeu isn't on the pitch and it's hardly his fault for selling the players he sold except Dani Alves, which is OK anyhow. Dani was getting old.

How Barca fans blame Bartomeu for everything is beyond me.

Not sure how it matters whether a person is from Catalonia or Other Countries when it comes to a Football club at the level of Barcelona. He (A representative of FCB) is basically saying the fans outside Catalonia have no say and can *bleep* off.

The fans don't get a say, the socii do (partners/members), and those are almost all in Catalonia. Hence his comments.

So just read Iniesta now saying something that feels strange as well, not sure whether its just on his playing time reduced, but it seems not where he mentions he doesnt feel hes getting the respect he deserves after years of service.

It just seems yet another player now voicing out their unhappiness with the management, Iniesta out of all ppl. With Neymar I wouldnt care as much since he left like that, but if its Iniesta, ppl should care....

Bartomeu lied again with Iniesta's contract renewal. He said EVERYTHING is agreed, got found out on a lie, now claims " there was an agreement in principle because Iniesta's agent accepted the general conditions of a renewal". Iniesta doesnt admit theres an agreement when asked by reporters.


I guess he's not lying but only departing from the truth.

Barto can’t resign. Why you ask? Personal liability. When you become president of a club like real or Barca, socios clubs, you become (with your board of directors) liable for losses that your management caused to the club.

Barca’s finances are not looking great, Barto needs time to clean up the club finances before he leaves. Hence that shady deal for Pjanic, hence why they started leaking that they want more than they got from Neymar.

There's absolutely no way he's PERSONALLY liable for any losses of a 1billion revenue a year football club.
Pls explain to me how that would come about. I read something similar but that's surely BS or misleading info.
He's elected by the socis, he has a tenure, why would he be personally liable when the club makes a loss?

Why would he not be accountable. If the board of Nestlé elect a new CEO and the whole company starts going down to shit, who's responsible ?

To me it's logic, what i wonder is, what can he expect as punishment if he resigns now ?

Responsible as in politically responsible, not as in it's his money on the line.
With the penalty being resignation, so..
Unless he broke company regulations or the law.

And Barca is as far as I can see basically a non-profit organization, legally, aren't they?
