Re: 2017/2018 - Real Madrid Offseason Discussion
I would wash my hands of the argument if Benzema was playing well or at least trying. He has no goals, I doubt any assists, doesn't jump for crosses, doesn't extend his legs for a tap in. I would say he's a traffic cone but even traffic cones can be carried into the goal

Really cannot distinguish who is more upsetting to me between Bale and Benzema.

And we still go wishy washy on Mbappe in the face of this horror show.

I'm just tired of watching Bale and Benzema both.... tired of their bs. I want players that I don't get frustrated with as a general rule.

Asensio and Isco shit on both of them... but they can't score. We'd pass the ball around with no end product. But at least we'd look nice with no end product. With Bale and Benz, it's frustrating with no end product.

Well, that is the end of that for me. Whatever happens with the pks is totally a nonfactor. Um, love the midfield options and again, Theo is gonna make Marcelo definitely perform more often than not. Our forwards not named Ronaldo are absolutely embarrassing though.

Kovacic has improved leaps and bounds since he came. I am happy for him. Ceballos trying abit too hard at times. All in all better effort from the team

After that horrific penalty shoot out against Man U, I bet they would have had to do extra sprints for every missed penalty this time, lol.

Re: 2017/2018 - Real Madrid Offseason Discussion
So preseason in finished, unless you count the Uefa Super cup as preseason.
Overall pretty disappointing I have to say. Attack is looking woeful- need a back up striker and at this point could probably replace both Benz and Bale without a second thought. Defense is nothing special and still lacks a back up RB.
On the other hand the midfield looks great, possibly improved which is hard to do over last season. In particular Kovacic and Llorente look like they are slotting in perfectly and Ceballos is just a bonus.
If I had a magic wand I would sell Benzema and Bale. Sign Mbappe (below 200m), Dembele, a back up Striker and back up RB then call it a day.

It's sad that we are this far into the transfer window and have this much work to do. We took 2 steps forward and 2 steps backward

i still feel like the CB depth is weak, i dont trust Nacho and Varane without Ramos, and if either play with Vallejo it's worse.
and the attack, oh boy, except for CR, we have no other goalscorer. It feels like Benzema is now more content than never not being a goalscorer and we let him be. Bale is 0.

Re: 2017/2018 - Real Madrid Offseason Discussion
I dont think we're in need of a back up RB, Hakimi has handled himself pretty well in this preseason. I definitely trust him to be an understudy.
With the status of the BBC I think we can forget about selling any of them this late in the window. But it definitely looks like something is up with Bale. He seems to be playing with a giant chip on his shoulder and appears unhappy. Benz is more relaxed because he knows even if he scored 0 goals in an entire season he knows we will pass on any striker to keep him. Someone needs to wake up Zidane and tell him we are in dire need of a striker. If you get outscored by freaking Mayoral you know you're in trouble
Theo has impressed me the most, he's got everything from strength, power, speed and good technique. I am going to enjoy watching our b team play next season

Re: 2017/2018 - Real Madrid Offseason Discussion
A preseason where all the seniors slept and the youngsters hungry.
Never cared. After that preseason where we looked good in every friendly but ultimately not winning shit, preseason lost it's value in for me.
Our season starts with the European super cup.
Everyone should have had enough time to wake up by now.
My only concern is complacency. Coming into this season on the back of our most recent success last season. Complacency is our number one enemy. Hopefully the success hasn't gotten into the players heads.

Our midfield is so freaking good. Kroos is a dime
Much better interplay between Bale and Benz. Still one of them has to sit when Ronaldo comes back
I never want to see the 433 after this, 4312 is the way forward

Yeah, Bale and Benz are doing alright. I say alright because from the dog shit they were showing before, alright is a huge upgrade. Bale is still trying to outrun guys who can actually run though.

He's afraid to run. He gets injured everytime. He's too powerful for his muscles and joints.
