It just doesn't make much sense Surag, AJ wins the no 1 contender for US title and the person he beat is in the WWE no 1 contender match lol.

Not to mention as I said Nakamura and Corbin are nowhere to be seen and there's 4 literal jobbers in the match who should be nowhere near the title scene.

Meanwhile people like Owens, Nakamura and Styles are not involved and it's completely nonsensical.

I don't have a problem with Styles and Owens as a feud as it builds up the US title but how they are doing it doesn't make sense and it's going devalued the WWE title.

No matter what the outcome is the US title is going to feel like the main event programme, hell the Ziggler and Nakamura programme will probably feel more important than who ever Orton will face.

It just makes no sense on any level.

Bray vs Broken Matt feud on RAW.

During last night’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that WWE’s plan is to use the “Broken Hardys” gimmick. Meltzer said that it’s all up t the negotiators, as WWE will have to make some sort of financial agreement with Anthem for the rights to the gimmick (it may be a one-time payment or an agreement that pays a percentage for years going forward). This is why Matt has been weaving in and out of the accent and still doing nods to the gimmick on TV and live events. WWE feels that the “attitude era Hardys” has a limited shelf life, and that the Broken gimmick has great merchandising potential under WWE.

They really should've split up the Hardy's.

Jeff would've been such a great fit for SD right now. Instant title contender and many interesting feuds he could be having with Orton, AJ, Zayn/Owens, even Shane O if required.

It's still not too late.

If Broken gimmick needs to prevail in wwe, I think splitting up the Hardy's would be a good first step.

Yeh Jeff on SD would have been good, but other than Orton, nobody else really interests me on the show.

Styles has a boring character, Owens is meh and Zayn is a midcarder at best. Nakamura can't cut proper promos and hasn't really established himself yet. Only thing I can think of is Cena vs Orton vs Jeff, which I don't think has happened before. Only problem is Cena's barely around.

On RAW you've got Bray, Miz, Heel Ambrose, Matt, Lesnar and Strowman he can feud with.

Everybody knows somebody going from unliked jobber to main eventing a PPV in about 10 seconds flat with 2 seconds build up in between is money, fans will be clamouring to get tickets to the PPV to see unmotivated Orton Vs guy who's being rewarded for hitting stiff and hitting the roids. Hope he stiffs Orton just so Orton can go full rage mode and shout 'STOOPID' at him after hitting him back.

Meh. I don't mind Mahal being the #1 contender. Not like he's going to win and this will elevate him. The whole point of Smackdown is the land of opportunities. With AJ and Owens feuding, this will be the main focus and seller so WWE title can take a backseat. This also elevates the US title. That should really main event the next SD PPV.

What doesn't make sense is what was mentioned before. AJ beats and pins Zayn to become #1 contender to the US title and then Zayn gets put in the #1 contenders match for the WWE title . He gets rewarded for losing.

Anyway, we're getting fresh new feuds. AJ/Owens, Orton/Mahal, Charlotte/Naomi, Nakamura/Ziggler. Much better than same old same old.

Jinder has no build, but I'm okay with this rather than Corbin vs Orton (Corbin is super boring). Hope this elevates Jinder & he gets a US title run someday, both his Talking Smack appearances were great & he is working hard. But yes. he has no business in a WWE title feud. I think they are building him Jinder for Nakamura's next feud - Ziggler -> Jinder Mahal -> Rusev (Return) -> Corbin/Owens/WWE Title !

This is what happens when you don't have a top heel. Owens in the US Champion & Corbin/Rusev/Harper/Ziggler etc are upper mid-carders at best. SD needs a top heel & WWE fu**ed on an Ambrose heel turn which would be huge.

SD has Orton, Styles, Nakamura, Zayn, Cena,Mojo & Dillinger as faces now. They should call Roode after Summerslam !Are there chances of a Cena heel turn ?

You are reading far too much into it if you think the roster has anything to do with it, it's two weeks in a row now they are positioning the WWE title stuff in the first hour of the show after the initial promo and never mention on it the show again.

It's quite obvious that for what ever reason they are considering the US title the main feud of the show, it opened and closed the show last week and revolved around the last two matches this week.

Where as the WWE title was never even mentioned in the second hour and last week Orton was in the match for 5 minutes with Rowan and afterwards it wasn't mentioned again.

It's quite obvious they are just looking for someone to feed to Orton in a throwaway feud that they don't give a shit about.

It's probably because they still haven't finished the Bray feud and don't want to divert attention from that too much, moving Bray away as a last minute decision *bleep* up their entire booking process.

But this is what happens when you make last second booking decisions.

I liked Bennett from the little i saw in TNA, good on the mic and Maria is obviously known by most WWE fans.

From an entertainment perspective, all the other potential contenders for the title aren't all that much better than Mahal. Orton aside, there's no actual stars on the show. Since SD is the B show and the 'land of opportunity', I don't have an issue with them experimenting and testing new guys out (even jobbers) in the main event scene.

Just because the WWE book someone as a jobber or a main eventer, it doesn't necessarily mean they are that. There's plenty of jobbers who are just as good talent wise as some of the so called main eventers nowadays. Like Reigns no matter how many titles they put on him is nothing more than a midcarder imo.
