i had a feeling we'd drop points in this game, knowing valencia, who have sucked ass all season, but love causing surprises against us. i didn't expect a loss, watched the game, re-run, as i couldn't catch it live, and it was just bloody awful...we better not have a quiet summer yet again. varane is just too damn prone to mistakes and errors, i don't understand him. offensively, its been meh, i watch games and i wonder how we've managed to remain top

Anyone thinking the title race is over is underestimating Barca's ability to screw things up. We got serious talent to feck this up believe me.

Regardless of Barca's form, I think they've always excelled at grinding out results against the occasional teams that were more motivated to win or better prepared. I thought that was supposed to be Real Madrid's greatest strength this season, having won more games than ever in matches that could've easily gone the other way. I guess the luck had to run out, at some point. On the flip side, Bale is back, which means another tall head in the box to compliment Zidane's tried and tested game plan.

Real werent that bad I thought, typical GL kneejerk overreaction? They had so many chances and dominated. Credit to Valencia though they really played well this match and nothing anyone could have stopped Zaza from scoring that goal.
But its really great to imagine Real to bottle the league to win, that would be AWESOME
Although first we need to be consistent and play well enough to earn all the points first ourselves, I still think Real on another day probably wont have lost this game.

I don't think it's an overreaction. Actual good performances have been few and far inbetween for RM this season, and like I said before, they've only gotten this far because they've managed to churn out so many wins and draws in matches that could've gone either way. Results aside, their play style is so unimaginative that some fans have actually started losing interest in the game It's been mentioned a few times that this is the worst Barca side in years. Well.. this is hardly the strongest and most consistently performing R. Madrid side we've had in recent time, but I suppose that doesn't matter. I won't be that disappointed if we "bottle the league", or the CL for that matter. I will be disappointed if we go into the next season, with no significant squad changes, and with no signs of improvement from a managerial aspect.

The first dribble was cheeky. The defending for the second one was just like playing FIFA online co-op with your 10 year old brother who insists on always marking the same player as you

Varane hurt his ankle against Valencia and will reportedly be out for 5 weeks. Who will replace him in the meantime? Only Zidane knows. All I know is that Nacho deserves a transfer to a club that appreciates his talents and work ethics.

Las Palmas have bottled a good five opportunities against Sociedad.
Javi Varas just passed it straight to Prieto for an easy goal. 1-0 Sociedad against the run of play.

You would think that. But I think Barcelona will win it. Too much pressure atm. Madrid losing handed them a lifeline. Quite unpredictable. But I have a feeling Barcelona will edge it or it will end in a draw.

Re: La Liga Discussion 2016/17: La Cuarta Parte
I'm starting to truly believe that the current generation of French players is the most overrated one in Europe. I don't even have to look further than Real Madrid to realize this.
We have:
Strengths: One good performance against Barcelona four years ago.
Weaknesses: Blackmail, injury-pronitude, mistake-pronitude, and a measureless, baseless sense of entitlement.
This is the guy that succeeded legendary forwards like Raul and R9, and managed to last longer than the latter at Real Madrid.
Strengths: Link-up play, or so they say.
Weaknesses:
Tactical plan: cross the living crap out of the ball.
Strengths: a bottomless pit of luck.
Weaknesses: Unfair treatment to more deserving players (resulting in them wanting out), nonsensical subs, stubbornness, lack of a well-defined tactical plan and nepotism.
We have:
Raphael Varane
Now, here's a player who's not afraid to blackmail the club into giving him a guaranteed starter-status even though he's not even half as good as a drunk Pepe. Strengths: One good performance against Barcelona four years ago.
Weaknesses: Blackmail, injury-pronitude, mistake-pronitude, and a measureless, baseless sense of entitlement.
Karim Benzema
This is the guy that succeeded legendary forwards like Raul and R9, and managed to last longer than the latter at Real Madrid.
Strengths: Link-up play, or so they say.
Weaknesses:
- Football-related: laziness, indifference, injury-pronitude, wastefulness among many, many...many other things.
- Not football-related: modern day Al Capone.

A Pep-wannabe with a lacking tactical mind, nonsensical subs and a severe case of nepotism.Tactical plan: cross the living crap out of the ball.
Strengths: a bottomless pit of luck.
Weaknesses: Unfair treatment to more deserving players (resulting in them wanting out), nonsensical subs, stubbornness, lack of a well-defined tactical plan and nepotism.
