Pep wanted Ronaldinho to stay?
http://www.espnfc.com/barcelona/story/3052760/ronaldinho-pep-guardiola-wanted-me-to-stay-at-barcelona
So according to this, Pep wanted him to stay but he said he just knew his cycle at Barca was finished? But then he moved around and just went downhill pretty much. Is what he said false or there were other factors?

Re: Pep wanted Ronaldinho to stay?
lol, NO! Pep wanted him to leave, or what did you expect him to say? footballers are like that, they're always diplomatic.
Even pep himself will tell you that he even wanted Yaya toure and deco to stay even when we all know he personally shipped them off. If managers want somebody they tell you they don't want that person, if they want to sell someone they tell you the person is here to stay. Same with players too.
So don't read too much meaning into what ronaldinho is saying. His time was clearly over and pep knew it then subsequently sold him.

Re: Pep wanted Ronaldinho to stay?
I find this hard to believe considering his off field antics and the way Barcelona played under Guardiola straight from the get go.
It could very well be true, I just don't see it. I'm not sure why Dinho might lie either, but Pep is a Barca legend so it might be that Barca/Dinho are trying to foster a healthy public image for his new involvement with the club.

Introducing fake positions in football
Gives fake compliments to opposition teams
Makes fake reactions on the touchline or in during interviews
Now some past legend who was unjustly thrown out is asked to fake praise Pep just so they can 'rebuild their relationship'
Jesus, is there anything not fake about this guy?
Unbelievable how desperate Barca have become tbh. They'll do just about anything to make Pep 'look strong'. Smh

Re: Pep wanted Ronaldinho to stay?
Yea we can hardly tell the inside stories with all the professionals knowing how to speak diplomatically instead of being honest... but Ronnie going as far to say Pep wanted him to stay hehe...

I don't think even dinho himself believed what he said tbh.. he's probably awake this morning wondering to himself when he said that.

I love pep
And Ronaldinho was shit by time Pepe came around, Messi was clearly miles better, and this lazy ass had no place in Barca.

Re: Pep wanted Ronaldinho to stay?
Pep got asked the same question after Ronaldinho said it and he answered the same thing. That he wanted him to stay but that Dinho had already decided to leave. The interview was all over AS yesterday. If its true or not, who knows.

Re: Pep wanted Ronaldinho to stay?
Inmates were in tears as they held a barbecue to say goodbye to Ronaldinho this week after the former Brazil star was placed on house arrest following 32 days in a Paraguayan prison. [espn]

Re: Pep wanted Ronaldinho to stay?
Imagine you are in jail and freaking Ronaldinho joins in. Unreal dream for these guys.
Also he got lucky serving his time during a global quarantine.
