It looks like Zidane has given his entire squad opportunities and is now starting to cast aside those that have disappointed. First Morata and now Danilo. Coentrao will be given a chance, if he is ever healthy enough but expect him to be added to list!

Come this summer, look for alternatives to those on this list!!

I would like this even more if we saw some sort of condemning action towards Ronaldo.

As to this game, if team can get it going again (which is basically individual errors), then Malaga should not be a problem. However they do have a portero that when he is on can be a real problem for us.

Vasquez is so average, first chance to cross there and he has his head down looking at his boots smh

It pisses me off so much seeing Vasquez playing so much while having a talent like Asensio on the bench. The gap in quality is so big that you only need to watch the way they touch the ball in order to see it.

Ramos should just become our striker. He'd do a better job than our supposed striker anyways

Liking our effort. Isco has been fabulous since he came on. He should have come on against Sevilla last week. This is what separates him from James and Asensio. You just sense that you have more control over the midfield with him on

Kroos has been ripping Malaga apart with his penetrating passes. Too bad the strikers cant hit the side of a barn door or he'd have at least 4 assists by now

Lucas has been fabulous and unlike Asensio's crosses they actually amount to proper chances

Lucas actually is playing well today. Not as talented as my favourite wingers from the past but he is clearly doing a good job. Also, decent 1st half though I really wondering if our forwards know how to run with the ball.

Anyway, Malaga away from home is really not that hard for a team like Madrid.

We are not playing shit lol our forwards just cant score. They have had 4 clear cut chances that have been poorly taken. In the past 3 seasons we have drawn Malaga at home so this is a welcoming change

Anyway, one of those matches where we did our very best to keep Malaga within touching distance of a very undeserved equaliser. Thankfully, Malaga is not that good.

Kroos with 9 key passes. Just 1 less than all the other 21 players combined. Second highest Lucas with 2 key passes. The rest with a grand total of 0. He and the rest of the hardworkers deserve to go through on Wednesday

games like these, when it seems we are playing without 1, 2 or 3 players, i wonder how we've managed to be top of the table.....we can't have players playing this way in ucl and expect something

The game against Celta is going to be interesting. We are without our starting fullbacks. The back ups are hopeless and if ZZ overlooks them and goes for Nacho and Lucas (which he should) then that pretty much gives them a strong message that they arent needed and everything ZZ said in the presser about being behind Danilo 1000% will have been for nothing because the media will have a field day with him for starting a winger and a CB over 2 natural FBs.

Also does ZZ "rest" Ronaldo and Benz or does he trust them to deliver. Also do we go with Isco or Asensio if Lucas starts at the back

They were both awful as you said. Benz miscued a tap in, missed a header from 3 yards out and when he lost the ball after Nacho had run the length of the pitch to create it the disappointment in the fans voices was echoing all around

They should sit a few games in order to try and regain some of their danger

Kameni seems to be Ronaldo's kryptonite. Add to that he's in poor form and you get what you saw today. Normally in that case the striker bails you out but we don't start with one unfortunately

I read some headlines in Italian sites that Marcelo and Carvajal are big doubts against Napoli, is that happening?

Carvajal will more than likely miss the first leg. He'll be back for the league game preceding that. Marcelo hasn't done any tests yet but he looked pretty beat on the beat on the bench. Hopefully it's nothing serious. At this moment we don't know, with the luck we've had with injuries he might be out for the season or he might only be out for 1/2 weeks. We'll have to wait for tomorrow with him i think

@halamadrid, I would like to correct you; Ronaldo is not in poor form, this is what is left of Ronaldo. When he gives that super-performance, that's when he pushes himself beyond his limit. Even the Julien Fauberts and pedro leons of football have those moments.

He should not go down that painful road Casillas went - over 5 years of mediocre football and had to be forced out the door

He is still the best forward we have that doesn't get injured for months at a time. We are lucky that he has stayed injury free for as long as he has. He isn't the one that needs to leave it's the other guy in the front line who keeps holding us back with his lethargy. Ronaldo is an easy scapegoat because more often than not he's the one at the end of every chance but why is he the only one. When Bale was playing and he delivered nobody had a problem with Ronaldo being in the team because Bale was scoring or creating all our goals but with him out now Ronaldo is the only goalscoring forward we can rely on.
