Malaga vs Real Madrid
This will probably be our hardest game in a while which is why I can't understand why Carlo didn't rotate on Wednesday.
Carlo is one win away from beating the joint record for number of wins in a row which currently stands at 12 games
I predict a hard fought win
Hope Carlo benches Bale and plays Illara next to Kroos. Probably won't happen though

Re: Malaga vs Real Madrid
Shots fired
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
In view of the declarations made by the president of UEFA, Michel Platini, concerning the winner of the Ballon d'Or, Real Madrid C. F. would like to outline:
Firstly, its surprise at the repeated declarations regarding his personal preferences over the choice of the winner of the Ballon d'Or, particularly given that he is the head of European football's principal body, where our understanding is that the strictest impartiality should prevail.
Secondly, the Ballon d'Or is an individual rather than collective prize which is awarded annually to the best player in the world, and we believe that, in order to maintain its prestige, those who participate in the vote should take into account exclusively the individual professional achievements of the players.
Finally, we believe that Cristiano Ronaldo has without doubt had his best ever professional year individually, and has claimed the Champions League, the Golden Shoe and the record for the highest goalscorer in an edition of the Champions League, as well as the Copa del Rey and the top-scorer award in La Liga. In the current season, he has won the European Super Cup, scoring both goals in the match, and is achieving spectacular figures such as his 20 goals in the first 12 matchdays of La Liga, which confirm his great moment of form and ensure that, more than ever, he is deserving of the Ballon d'Or

Ridiculous.
Ronaldo shouldn't even go. He really shouldn't.

Re: Malaga vs Real Madrid
I know Blatter and Platini are being ridiculous with their anti Ronaldo "opinions" but our club should really try and just call them out for it and not include his achievements with it as if anyone needs reminding. It makes us look like we are on the defence when in reality they are the ones who should be. But I guess this is probably what Ronaldo wanted when he was "sad" last season

Re: Malaga vs Real Madrid
I don't think our club even needs to say anything imo.
We should let the people and ourselves talk;
Ronaldo was the best player in the CL last season, Platini's tournament.
Scored the most goals ever in the CL, Platini's Tournament.
He won the Best Player in Europe, Platini's Tournament.
He won the Balon D'or last year, Blatter's prize
He is the favorite to win it this year, Blatter's prize.
There is nothing to say imo.
Just keep performing and winning their shit................ and then send someone else to pick it up for you and deposit it in your museum.

Re: Malaga vs Real Madrid
@ freeza, this is what he said
The UEFA president claimed earlier in the week that Germany's World Cup win as a team means the individual award should go to one of them, as opposed to clear favourites Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.
"Several players deserve the Ballon d'Or, but I'm of the opinion that in a World Cup year this award should go to a world champion," the Frenchman told EFE.
"This is in line with what I said four years ago when, in my opinion, the prize should have been awarded to a Spanish player."

Re: Malaga vs Real Madrid
Someone needs to remind them their position is in need of impartiality. He can't just express an opninion hinting he wants Neuer to win it over Ronaldo from his position. He can obviously tell his wife in bed if he's even got one but in public he needs to be unbiased. I think we were right to call him out for it but all that stuff at the end was unnecessary as we all know what he achieved this year
He really can't catch a break, I feel sorry for him. Last year Blatter disrespected him and this year Platini wants to disregard the whole year and base the achievement solely on a couple of months in the summer
No wonder they fabricated the Garcia report smfh

He'll be alright.
I don't know if he needs any more motivation to continue doing what he's doing, but he should use these.
Hopefully, he helps fire us to glory again this season.

I sense drop points would be the order of the day. Malaga is stubbornly hard sometimes. Not even sure why too.

Re: Malaga vs Real Madrid
If we went by your "senses" and "predictions" doc, we would've dropped 30 points by now!
I feel this is winnable. This Madrid can control the midfield game, unlike past years, so it should be interesting. Modric is injured true, and he was a bigg reason why we controlled the middle of the park, but I feel James and Isco will step in just fine.
Ilarra does a really good job of circulating the ball in middle too. He might lack other qualities (or at least we're not seeing them yet) but his short passing and holding of the ball ni the middle is quite good.

Re: Malaga vs Real Madrid
Platini is UEFA not FIFA... Â he should not comment on the UEFA award, which he didn't and never has (Ronaldo won). Â But the FIFA BdO has absolutely nothing to do with him so he can say whatever he wants. Â Now, Blatter commenting on the FIFA BdO is another matter... Â he should shut it.
Madrid shouldn't respond anyhow... belittles the club and makes us look like whiners. Â We had nothing but praise when FIFA randomly decided to push the BdO voting deadline by 2 weeks last year (first time ever) to accommodate Ronaldo. Â So we don't have a leg to stand on here...

Re: Malaga vs Real Madrid
Doesn't matter the only competitions fifa own are the world cup and club world cup. Everything else is organised by uefa. So even if it doesnt say UEFA in front of the balon dor its a measurement of how well a player has played in uefas competitions and in this case in addition to the wc so yes he should keep his gob shut
And yes we were right to criticise him because its not the first time a president of both governing bodies has disrespcted one of our players for whatever reason. In their heads Ronaldo will never be deserved of a balon dor because in their eyes he is perceived as a petulant sob which couldn't be further from the truth. If they dont like him they should keep it to themselves until they retire from their positions
Also we didn't ask for it to be extended and neither did Ronaldo. They did it on their own accord. That didn't stop the head of uefa joke that it was extended to "please ronaldo". So unprofessional the both of them

Re: Malaga vs Real Madrid
Smh. 1. So madrid are now whinning and bringing up titles and awards won by cr7 in his defense when they also justified it last season before he won this same award without any single trophy or award last season.. 2. they also didnt complain when the voting period was extended and the opportunity was also given to people to change their votes. something that had never happened before. 3. How is platini speaking out a problem when blatter spoke and cr7 still won the award last season. He also said he wanted henry to win the award in 2004 yet dinho won. 4.Nobody complained when blatter said he wanted henry to win the wpoty in 2004. 5. if anything this should be in cr7's favour as it worked out last season when cr7 won even after the comments made by blatter. It is a ploy madrid will use again in campaigning for cr7 to win the award as they would complain to no end that fifa/platini were bias if he doesn't win, like when ronaldo was making illiteratish comments like "now i know why i havent been winning any awards from fifa'..6. Moreover, their opinions shouldn't cause controversy as its people (captains, journalists and NT coaches) who vote and these votes are shown to the public after the ceremony. 7. I doubt madrid would complain if platini/blatter came out to support ronaldo for the award. Like sports said, madrid are the ones to be quiet.

1. Get the fck outta here... They should bring up his titles and performances last season because according to these clowns, one event played over 20+ days usurps someones Yearly accomplishments, that's why they brought it up and the fact they have to remind these clowns of Ronaldo's achievements is embarrassing towards these clowns who have AGAIN dismissed his performances.
2. They have every right to complain when their player is CONSTANTLY being disrespected by people who should be impartial. This only started when Blatter and Platini started to open their mouths about their anti Ronaldo campaign, so please get your facts straight before you come here spewing your usual bullshit.
2. Why the fck should we complain about the voting being extended? Did we ask to extend it? Why was it extended? Was it because the President of Fifa shamed himself and put himself in a position where he looked like an absolute ass clown? What about that? Why didn't you mention that?
3. The problem is he is meant to impartial, keep his mouth shut. If he's got a problem, develop your own award AGAIN and set a criteria that makes you get what you want. Also, his logic for wanting Henry to win it is flawed with his logic now since according to him, the summer tournaments take precedent. So why not someone from Greece in 2004? I don't see him talking about that? Or WC 2006, Euro 2008 etc.
4. Yes they did. Because they wanted the President to remain impartial. People have thought that Blatter's entire reign has been filled with corruption. Also, there were 2 seperate awards at the time and everyone knew the Balon D'or was more prestigeous, simply based on the fact the WPOTY was a Fifa award and the voting has ALWAYS been questioned.
5. How is this in his favor? It makes it seem like his performances are not being rewarded and the year he played last year was average. It makes it seem like he is only in the voting put of pity, when that couldn't be far from the truth and after the 2012 fiasco, he has every right to make the comments he has made and Blatter and Platini continue to validate his comments every time they open their mouths.
6. What? Are you an idiot? They shouldn't cause controversy? Seriously, are you an idiot?
7. No one is asking for their support, no one even asked them make a comment on the award. This is now numerous times when each of them have opened their mouths against Ronaldo and the club and Ronaldo himself has had enough. If they just kept their mouths shut, no one would say a thing.

What kind of a person are you? Can't you make a valid point without misusing insults? Anyway, like you said, 1. So did cr7s form over the course of 2 months make him deserving of the award, even without winning anything whatsoever in 2013? If it did, then it sure does warrant neuer winning too, someone who actually had a world title, league and cup to show for it in 2014. 2. I give you that. But it just goes to show that cr7 is a beneficiary of their so-called lousyness/incompetence which negates madrids complaint. 3. What platini said was a world cup year, btw didn't cannavaro in it in that 06 year? (according to your example). 4. Can you please provide a reference/link of controversy by blatters statement in 2004? 5. It isn't for cr7, cause if it were about performances, how did cr7 win the BDO 2013 edition? 6. Lol, smh. still doesn't change the truth anyway. 7. I give you that. Except i don't see how that should warrant a complaint as he didnt insult cr7 in anyway.. To cut long story short, This is a taste of ronaldos own medicine.

Oh please....
1. This has nothing to do with whether he is derserving of the award or not. The fact is, during that time, did anyone overlook the year that Ribery had? Or Robben? Or Messi? No. No one overlooked their acheivements in favor of another. No of these guys made comments regarding that a singular event outshines an entire year. If that's the case, why didn't a Chelsea player win the award in 2012 after they won the CL? Surely one of their players should have one it......
2. He's not the benefeciary of anyhting. Their idiocy and ignorance is of their own doing and their stupidity to involve Ronaldo only makes them look more stupid. The amount of people that can not tolerate Blatter and Platini only grows more with the amount of stupid comments they make.
3. And Cannavaro winning it in 2006 was one of the most laughable in history. Go check it out. Read how many people scoffed at the idea that he should be awarded the best player in the world award because his country won the World Cup. You'll find barley anyone who agrees with that sentiment. Also, why limit it to the World Cup? If these Int tournaments carry so much weight then EVERY tournament needs to be taken into consideration should it not?
4. What? Just type in his name and a whole host of controversies will pop up. It's no surprise that as soon as he was elected in 1998, the importance of the WPOTY began to dissipate into irrelevancy.
5. He was excellent in 2013..... What the hell were you watching? Real Madrid just didn't win any trophies, that was the knock against him. No one questioned his performances that year, it was just the lack of team success.
6. What truth? If an impartial body comes out consecutive years making statements which favor one side it shouldn't cause controversy?
Well then, I wonder why everybody is making a big deal about Qatar 2022.........? Surely Blatters comments has nothing to do with it............ Ridiculous.
7. He didn't insult him in anyway? Well then, the next time someone has an outstanding year, we'll just dismiss all that because someone's team won an Int tournament. The WHOLE season gets ignored because of that 20+ day period. Platini is the same dude who backed Pirlo in 2012 to win it based on what exactly? Euro 2012. So everybody else's performances over the year are ignored......
P.S. Taste of his own medicine? For what?

I was never good at predicting stuff so I'm wrong most if not all the time. Still, gotta post it anyway and for RM sake, thank goodness.
Still not confident about this match.

That duda guy is a diving scumbag pos
Think both James and Bale are having poor games. Kroos, Ronaldo and Benzema have impressed. Carvajal gets no help from bale defensively eventhough he is part of a midfield four and not a front three. We should really look to sub Illarra in for him. Malaga are making a meal of every tackle it's getting annoying

And a bs 2nd yellow to Isco. Lovely stuff. Also, Bale really needed that goal, nothing he was doing was working out. May this help his confidence a bit (or a lot).

Re: Malaga vs Real Madrid
What a bs red card for Isco. Such an incompetent referee, missed a penalty we shouldve had in the first half and booked wellington in the 93rd minute when he should have been off at least three times prior to that
Great win, we were never really in danger of conceding apart from set pieces
Iker had a bloody shocker, couldn't even hold onto the tamest of shots. James and Bale were extremely poor and as a result of no help from them Carvajal looked bad out there.
Benzema continuing his great form, Ronaldo and Isco played absolutely excellent all game. Kroos and Illarra did too
Tbh we dealt with the hostile environment pretty well so gotta give the lads that. Hope we appeal Iscos red card
16th win in a row with our next 3 games at the Bernabeu, may this run continue

I was relatively pleased.
Tricky game. Malaga tried to dirty it up by bitching about everything but, we got through.
James and Bale...... Odd games. Very odd.
Rest of the team, very good.
Good to see Benz scoring still.
But damn, that clean sheet.
