Honestly, it kind of was. Porto away is tough, they beat themselves with that silly double yellow in the first half, playing with 10 from 27 minutes on against the mighty Hungry Ian and co.
I don't think we played well. We really missed Bonucci because he is basically the Pirlo when it comes to launching attacks. We had no ideas, cross after cross [bad ones at that].
I'll chalk it up to being Porto away, which is tough and a 2-0 win is fine by me in any case.
Allegri is still a boss though

Decent away performance at Dragao from Juventus. Tell that to Buffon who basically had a day off.
Obviously our evaluation of the match is biased because of the well-deserved red card (what an imbecile this Telles ! two very dangerous tackles in a one minute span)
i think MOTM for us was either Pjanic or Khedira. Both were perfectly in control and very serious in their decisions, they form a nice pair.
MOTM for Porto was clearly the defender #5 Ivan Marcano. Solid defender this guy, especially in the air, no mistakes from his part. Brahimi was good as well, i did not remember this guy was playing for Porto: too bad his teammates were never there to combine with him. Rest of the squad is dead wood.

When a team goes down to 10 men, the match closes down and even when at home, when a team is expected to show some attack, they are permitted to park the bus by their fans. I was expecting a 0-0 actually, given how well Portuguese teams defend when necessary. Juventus are a contender. From an Interista.

Yeah livescore.com wasnt updated at the time, at 20.00 it still said it's Pjaca on midfield and also Benatia in defense

That's exactly what it was
I'm actually glad for it for Allegri, a manager deserves more respect. He had Dybala acting like a kid, which is one thing... but for Bonucci and him to have words, our best defender, best player in Serie A (according to the most current words), and our leader and heir to Buffon as captain (between him and Marchisio I suppose), to exchange words with Allegri... its very peculiar. After a 4-1 win and before a BIG game is even stranger.

Its probably because we don't need to win, might get on that.

Re: UCL Last 16: Porto vs Juventus
Juventus need to be careful tonight. They are phenomenal in Turin but Italian teams tend to get complacent in a 2nd leg tie whether home or away, in a lead. Porto is a better team people give credit for and have been in even better form than recent. Expect them to be inspired by the recent comebacks we've seen in the last 2 weeks in Europe, as Allegri has been known to get too arrogant and almost allowed Arsenal to blow the 4-0 lead open Milan had in the first leg; along with the 2-0 win turned 4-2 vs Barça at Nou Camp, a night that still haunts us Milanisti.

Could see Juve going for a draw but Porto being scrubs they probably still score 3 by accident.

Why is Allegri playing Mandzukic on the wing so much lately? isn't it a bit stupid?

Its like the best thing Allegri has done in his time at Juve. It sounds hilarious but Mandzukic playing on left mid is amazing.

Re: UCL Last 16: Porto vs Juventus
I was surprised as well but after watching it, it actually works really well. It's not an orthodox left wing role. He spends a lot of time as an inside forward.
4-2-3-1 changes to 4-4-2 with Dybala having a free role anywhere and man like dzukic moving towards LS
Implemented this myself back in fifa13. Allegri did well.

Re: UCL Last 16: Porto vs Juventus
Yes, Mandzukic spends all his time midfielding and setting up Sandro's runs down the wing when we attack from the left. When we attack down the right then Mandzukic moves forward to head/control down crosses and long balls for Higuain and Dybala. A bit of both when we go through the middle.
His insane workrate gets exploited in this role.

As comfortable as a 1-0- can be. Very relaxing for a CL game. Everyone did great, Marchisio or Dybala motm.
