Not discriminating but mentally unstable people are not allowed in the military because of safety issues. And these people clearly have issues because of pressure in the society, which would definitely be very high because it's the damn military.

Yeah, it'd probably help transgender people feel less social pressure to further ostracize them than normalize them and make them feel like human beings.

We kill ourselves because Dysphoria is the absolute worst thing a human being can go through. Depression is a side-effect of Dysphoria. Gives you an idea of how bad it can be when something that can get "normal" people to kill themselves is a mere side-effect. But you know what? Everytime someone calls me brave for going through what I'm going through I appreciate the compliment but they don't truly understand what I'm going through. I transitioned to try and find a single, just single drop of happiness in life. I found it, and because I pass and society treats me the way I want to treeat me which is just a normal woman. The perks of being a pretty girl are extra.

But there are girls who don't pass. There are girls who go through transition and face harassment and discrimination and even murder. Just for trying to find some happiness out of life and expressing themselves. I still walk around with a knife in my purse just in case.

There are girls who feel like if they express themselves that they'd lose everything dear to them in life. There are girls who tell their parents and end up getting abused by their own parents because of what was drilled into them in their own youth.

We kill ourselves because of how bigots like you think and then make us feel for wanting to express ourselves. Along your line of reasoning we should exclude intelligent people from the military because intelligence is co-morbid with a slew of mental and personality disorders.

Change the way you think about us, pretty please? Maybe then we can all just get along with the lives we want to lead.

Mate I tried to drown myself (discovered you can't) and planned to asphyxiate myself with 100% Argon gas because I couldn't get over the fear of how the world would react to me. Actually no. That pressure would be completely relieved by full support from command. Instead of being ostracized and excluded for a bullshit reason like budget. Like it should be.

Pressure is nothing to us, transphobia like yours means a lot. The military has historically been one of the most progressive orgs in the US, how about we keep it that way.

And FYI, I don't want to belittle their own issues but Transmen have it easier in society because of the way hormones affect the human body so they all end up passing and having no dificulty with discrimination in society because society doesn't even know.

That's what this whole thing is about. In the military you're trained to not discriminate against the people who'd give their life to save yours. They're trained not to give a shit about who they're fighting with because they're all there for the same reason. They already have support from command. Trump/Pence is trying to roll that back.

I tried to kill myself over the anxiety of coming out and the way my BPD made me feel. Not because I came out and wasn't accepted for who I was and reminded daily that I can never be who I was meant to be. That's why most transgirls kill themselves. There's a difference.

Attempting suicide is usually a sign that you have an issue with mental illness. Since the military recruits mostly young people the fact that you have suffered a mental or an emotional breakdown at a young age can mean that when confronted with the profound stress imposed by military service, the same thing or worse could happen again.

Trump's ban seems irrational, but I don't think it is. I don't think it's because he despises the LQBT, at least not completely. I can find the reasoning behind his decision instead of calling everyone around Hitler for disagreeing with me.
