It is true he needs more freedom to shine which is why a 3 man midfield can suit him well . Or to be part of a set up where he can play simple like for France. I don't think he can play higher like Delle Alli, he is not " mobile " enough.

Biggest reason is that Pogba is playing in his proper position in a 3 man midfield. Other reason is that you have talent and speed in front of him with Martial and Rashford. Lingard is useful too when he gets to play the off side that opens up.

Just a better set up, more positive tactics and better use of talent.

If this was Mourinho, you'd go 1 up and park the bus lol. Not to mention a front 3 of Mata, Rashford and Fellaini.

I've had my fair share of criticisms on Pogba since his Juve days but truth is motivation (to which should be in every human period let alone professional) really can make the difference in a performer.

Whether a Sensei in a Karate class to a man who gyms based on the environment and how much he lifts to a footballer who can either feel daunted when he enters the pitch or fiery based on his coach.

Growing up in youth football lays personal testament to that and if Mourinho did oppress his mentality then we can see the effect Allegri and Deschamp had personally on Pogba to just let him be himself and not dictate each move.

Footballers are simple minds usually given that is all they really know and some need to be told what to do and crave it, Pogba clearly prefers inspiration and not a general.

Arqi... generals work with Pogba too. But good ones. Conte is a massive authoritarian and so is Deschamps. They protect their players though in public, during both good and bad times. The discipline is administered behind closed doors. Mourinho praises himself when things go well and throws his players under the bus during tough times.

Nobody wants to deal with such a snake. It's a lose-lose for a player.

Stuardship from a coach really does seem the difference in Pogba.

If you're being told numerous tactics and dictated 'how you should play' rather than being given a vision and perspective, specific minds like Pogba footballing acumen aside are bound to look like wayward lemmings and it seems this more bitter and jaded version of Mourinho seemed to have just that effect upon him.

Say a player like Marcelo, would have a very similar consequence is 'coached' in such fashion.

Conte is consistent with himself as much of a total annoyance he can be, Allegri was known to just let him play, Deschamps clearly is a father figure of sorts.

Firenze may be right on us having to be served some hot and rank crow biryani it seems.

Pogba definitely has quality. There is no question about it.... Has nobody seen him at Juve? Mourinho is the virus that spreads onto the players and everyone around. The man did not evolve with the times.

I don't think Man U have the balance to perform well against the elite teams... they'll just smother Pogba's space and dare the others to create. The secondary and tertiary creators are much more important in those kinds of games.

And you're not one of those guys I mentioned Firenze... it took you a while to reach extreme frustration and want everyone gone (and understandably). I'm talking non Man U fans.

I don't even blame you Arqi. You're a Milan fan. You almost have to dislike Juve players as a general rule.

I have a similar problem with PSG players. They need to do well for Ligue 1 to have any sort of relevance... but I have complete disdain for them other than that unless they're relevant to NT lol.

No truth be told my fanship of clubs never really got in the way of how I rate players past a certain age given my value of objectivity by now. Just rate many more Frenchmen over him.

I appreciate Pogba for what he is and can do and whilst I still maintain he is overrated in sorts, I failed to see the mental onslaught Mourinho performed upon him even if it came to the 'Mou doesn't have Pogs forget the footballing basics' argument that has been the main focal criticism of Pogba detractors.

So in essence failed to see what negative coaching can do upon a player when looking back upon my own footballing youth days, and of course beyond just the eye test and not seeing whats behind the scenes.

Yes its just three games against not so strong opposition but the next step is to see how he performs versus bigger clubs to which has been questionable and more importantly in tighter, more crucial situations.
