The only restriction the mezzala has compared to the roaming playmaker (messi, dybala etc) is that he is limited to certain spaces, because he also has to defend, while the nr 10 does not have to do these. so yes, the mezzala is "limited" but it is still the most free roaming position in the midfield 3

just look at bentaleb, savic, etc who are playing the mezzala role these days. they have plenty of free roaming space to operate in

thats really the only difference between that position and the nr10. the nr10 has free roaming across the width of the pitch, while this role stays on 1 side of the pitch, but goes in the nr9 when possible, while the 10 goes in the false 9.

both of the midfielders in a mid 3 are mezzali. The interpretation of the position is up to the player and coach. Strootman is a mezzala. Milinkovic-Savic is a mezzala. Gattuso was a mezzala. Seedorf was a mezzala. Now you know.

You seem to be pretty unclear about what a free role is. That's exactly what our midfielders had to do. We played a 3-5-2.

His last season at Juve was by far his best and also his most dominant in terms of performances. It was also some of the very best we saw from Marchisio until he unfortunately got injured. Marchisio as regista with Khedira and Pogba in the midfield 3 and a newly signed Dybala who had an instant and fantastic chemistry with Pogba.

Yes, he hit some wonder goals and nice dribbles in the seasons previous and his role only grew with each season he spent at Juventus but his last season was surely his most impressive and at the time where he was given the keys to the attack.

I think people categorically misunderstand how he played at Juventus versus how he's being asked to play at United. They expect the talent to shine through regardless and given the transfer amount, wages and overall hype, I do understand it but Pogba at Juventus was simply a different player and a very good one.

Pogba was quite good against Bayern if I recall correctly in the 2015-16 season, we lost the tie but it was one of his better performances if memory serves right. Also against Real the season before I thought he was pretty good- I don't consider either of them to be MOTM performances, just notable ones.

Anyways, short version is Pogba at Juventus and Pogba at United have to be looked at separately, not collectively. Too many variables. He left a Maserati for a broken down Prius with 3 wheels, yeah, he's going to move slower

Agents can't offer their players to other clubs without the consent of their clients. If Raiola truly offered Pogba to City, it's because Pogba asked and greenlighted the move.
