Qualification for international tournaments isn't based on some vague "recent performance".

Honestly if you want to reward """recent""" performance you just hand out the spots according to your last league finish. The whole coefficient system is to reward the big clubs for being big clubs, reducing risks for them - which is exactly what the new system just takes a step further Laughing

I'm obviously not a fan of this new system, I just don't hate it. Because the whole system is already broken.

Though it doesn't matter anymore, Serie A has just about equaled the EPL in coefficient points for next year when the 2012-2013 coefficient is dropped. They changed the format just in time. For the 2018 season, 4 teams from the 4 top leagues will get automatic entry.

Historic merit, lol, what a joke! I might be wrong, but just by looking at it, not surprised that Real Madrid will benefit the most since they have won the most CLs historically, even if it means half of those were more than half a century ago rofl

Yo but it doesn't matter if you look at the last year, the last 3 or 5 or 20 years or all time (as they decided to do now) - it's always Real Madrid with the most CL trophies hmm
