Which two teams will go through ?
Re: Champions League 2016-17 | Group H
Either you
want to be regarded as an elite team.
or you
want to cry about opponents parking the bus when playing at Juve

To at least attempt something. They were cautioned by the ref at minute 35 for time wasting! Not even Monaco 2 years ago with their infamous style did this little. They didn't even try to counter really, their most forward player was Vazquez who can't run. A last ditch tackle, the post, a great save and shit lineup from Allegri saved them.
Good to them that they got a point in the toughest game of the group, but it was too frustrating.
Alves was useless. Lemina-Asamoah-Evra just can't break the wall. I hope Allegri grows a pair and just plays Pjanic, Sandro and/or Cuadrado next time.

Sevilla is not mid table. Not sure why Lucy would say that. That being said, Las Palmas and Espanyol put them to the sword so I am not quite sure how Juve couldn't do the same. Excellent point by Sevilla and certainly not the end of the world for Juve but the latter gotta win these games.
And by put to the sword, I mean score on them.

I'm not worried. When your toughest competition in the group has zero chances in the game and parks the bus for 45 minutes that is a very good sign that they want nothing to do with us.
Next time Allegri will start both Sandro and Pjanic and put in Cuadrado in the second half. It will be a totally different game next time around.

For tonight, i choose the second option.
Bad day at the office for both Higuain and Alves. And what about the management ! No creativity, no vista nor pace in the midfield. It was painful to watch, after 30 min Pjanic should have been brought in.
Sevilla ? Nothing to mention here, they parked the bus and put high pressure, as expected. They did what they had to do. Besides that they played like shit and their attackers got hustled by BBC all game long.

Sevilla are the reigning Europa League champions, not Club Brugge, Legia, Zagreb etc. They did what they had to do. They did not need to shoot on goal, they just needed a point from this match. If you can get a draw with no shots on goal against a superior team away from home, that's what you do. On the other hand, Allegri was naive, believing the journalistic hype and Sampaoli's disinformation:
"Jorge Sampaoli says he will not give up on attacking football as Sevilla prepare to kick off their Champions League campaign against Juventus .."
LOL

Re: Champions League 2016-17 | Group H
Same issue for Juventus several years running, no matter the manager or the personnel. We do not create enough chances, with that being said, we had 5-6 great chances to score. Khedira blew one badly and Higuain hit the crossbar but that's how it goes.
Sevilla would not have won this game if it was played for ten hours instead of 90 minutes and that's fine, a draw and a clean sheet is an amazing result for them. It's funny how a draw can be perceived as so different for both sides, emphasizes Sevilla's strength and Juventus' weakness.
I hate the 3-5-2 with a passion and today is another reason why, I don't even want to talk about it anymore. Not starting Pjanic is also bewildering, Asamoah and Zio Pat on the left side didn't offer much, it's no surprise that the entire attack looked better with Pjanic and Alex Sandro, I feel like Allegri got it wrong today, and we could've used each substitute at least ten minutes sooner.
I feel like we're really going for this slow start, strong finish mentality like come January we'll be unplayable. The problem is, these mistakes can cost you then.

Hope our next coach isn't Italian
Only an Italian would look at our squad and come to the conclusion that 3 CBs + Evra + Lemina (Hate him, think he's shit) and Asamoah (Broken player) is the ideal line up at home on matchday 1
Pussy mentality.

Probably, but why is it always a Juve coach, literally no other coach anywhere, that is always so scared to put the best playerson to the pitch in the CL.
Italian mentality man, it's all about playing it safe.

Well, going full force like Barcelona did last night is a nice thought but sadly, I've come to grips that it just won't happen for this Juventus (although it did once upon a time, not even that long ago). My point is, its September, we could win this game 10-0 and not do anything in the CL. We could squeak through qualification and still get a favourable draw. It's just how it goes, I don't like the approach either and I hate that our team is so comfortable in this shambolic 3-5-2 system that they've lobbied for because I think what you described is as much as a problem with the formation as the selection.
Imagine this:
Higuain-Dybala
xx-xx-xx-xx
Alex Sandro-Chiellini-Bonucci-Dani Alves
xx-xx-xx-xx
Alex Sandro-Chiellini-Bonucci-Dani Alves
Did we really need an extra defender back there tonight? Now imagine an extra midfielder in any capacity, even if its Asamoah, Khedira, Lemina and Pjanic playing at once, we will obviously offer more going forward and not even sacrifice that much defensively. When I watch the 3-5-2 against teams that park the bus, I feel like were attacking with only 9 men
IT'S SIMPLE

Re: Champions League 2016-17 | Group H
We will never win the Champions League playing a 3-5-2. The sooner Allegri realizes this the sooner we can move on to another formation.
We have two wingers on the bench plus Pjanic who can play as a CAM if need be. It's either 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2. Or even a 4-4-2 which can be converted to a 4-2-4 during the game will work with our wingers.
If I see the 3-5-2 again in Europe I will puke.

Since 1975, Juve has only had 1 non-Italian manager. That was Deschamps for one season in 2006 to bring them back from Serie B.
No way Juve hire a foreign manager.

Unlikely that we get a foreign coach, the next one we get might actually be Zidane in some years if he turns out to be legit.
Depending on when Allegri leaves we might see Di Francesco or Grosso next I think. Donadoni could be as well.

Sevilla team to play Lyon:
Rico; Mariano, Mercado, Pareja, Escudero; Nasri, N'Zonzi, Vazquez, Vitolo; Vietto, Ben Yedder
In a something-something-something formation.
