I hope so mate. But I won't mind if he gives someone like Sanchez a go at LW

lmao didn't the Basel-Rasgrad combo punch already knock out Rodger's very hopeful and ambitious PL runners up Liverpool?!

I would say we should get through, but we made a complete mess out of Bayern-Olympiakos-Zagreb last year so I can't predict anything with confidence
Still, three new ties to look forward to. First time we'll be playing a Bulgarian team.

Basel has a history of kicking out English teams in groups so an upset is not out of the question. PSG to get 1st.

Re: Champions League 2016-17 | Group A
We have had some horrid matches in recent years against lesser teams so won't rule out. But we have never lost to a swiss team AFAIK.
Should beat Basel at home and hopefully beat ludogoret home and away to get 9 points.

Jese will be back in mid Sept and the group stage doesn't start until Oct. With both Cavani and Jese, PSG will be very good. Right now, the only issue is that they lack a finisher for all the chances created... but by then, either Cavani finds form or Jese will get his chance.

Will have a field day digging out Pool fans' posts and juxtaposing them to post like this one. Sounds eerily familiar

IIRC, Arsenal is the English scalp that Basel are still missing
- Spoiler:
(Manchester United 2011 are missing from the caricature )

You'll have two CL match days completed before October

I am really looking forward to some new fixtures.
Also, rwo, you forget that unlike those teams, we have Basel-insiders in our ranks. Elneny-Xhaka ftw

It might take till the sixth round, but Arsenal will qualify. Basel will probably take 5 points from their three home games, but they will qualify for EL.

Re: Champions League 2016-17 | Group A
oops The site i looked at for the calendar had the month as "10" and opposed to "9" for the first game. I didn't double check. I was deceived.
In any case, Jese has already been cleared for training and will be available for all games after the NT break. Not sure if either Cavani or Jese will have much form when the Arsenal CL game comes around though. Granted, neither do Arsenal's strikers
Here's the link to Jese being cleared for training:
