Re: Champions League 2016-17 | Group A
Away to Paris and we've got no balance and no clue of who our starters should be. Our best midfield pairing of Xhaka-Elneny is on the bench so that Coquelin starts with Cazorla - while Xhaka is one player who does the job of both of them. So effectively we're a man down in midfield. That, and Mustafi and Perez are still Bambis in the team. There was less than a handful of passes in the final third between Perez and the wingers
Draw would be a best case scenario. QSG win, albeit a narrow one, is a more likely scenario.

Re: Champions League 2016-17 | Group A
Yea PSG might be in a bad shape but they might be a bit too much for us in the end. Although a draw would be great.
------------------------------------
Paris Saint-Germain's Thiago Motta feels Arsenal will pose the French giants a sterner test in the UEFA Champions League next week than Chelsea have each of the last three times they have met the Blues.
The Gunners visit Parc des Princes next Tuesday for the opening Group A clash and PSG warmed up poorly for the encounter, drawing 1-1 at home to AS Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 and adding more players to an already significant injury list.
Motta, 34, sees Arsene Wenger's men as "a level above" familiar foes Chelsea because of their open style of play.
"Arsenal are a level above Chelsea because they like to play," Motta said in the mixed zone after the match with Saint-Etienne. "We have not faced an English team that plays this way."
lol

I did read that earlier, I would be surprised if this actually happens. Lucas, Di María and Cavani are all available. Pastore is in the squad too.RealGunner wrote:So apparently Emery is planning on using Matuidi at LW tomorrow

FC Basel 1893 is the undisputed leader of the Super League and miles ahead of the rest. They won the Super League for the 7th time in a row last season. It's very obviously the Swiss FCB ^^Lucifer wrote:Anyone follows Basel? how's the team?
Oh, and they have a history of doing well against English clubs, and I hope they will continue it ^^

Re: Champions League 2016-17 | Group A
I understand that.
But Arsenal haven't looked too impressive and they have the same coach since 20 years.
So I know who has more potential to up their game.

But as a matter of fact, Basel have and had numerous illustrous and some more or less known players on their roster.
Since 2010, these guys were at Basel: Xherdan Shaqiri (now at Stoke), Alexander Frei (now retired), Eren Derdiyok (now at Galatasaray), Granit Xhaka (now at Arsenal), Aleksandar Dragovic (now at Leverkusen), Joo-Ho Park (now at Dortmund), David Abraham (now at E.Frankfurt), Marcelo Díaz (now at Celta Vigo), Yann Sommer (now at Gladbach), Valentin Stocker (now at Hertha), Marco Streller (now retired), Mohamed Salah (now at AS Roma), Raúl Bobadilla (now at Augsburg), Fabian Schär (now at Hoffenheim), Mohamed Elneny (now at Arsenal), Fabian Frei (now at Mainz), and Breel Embolo (now at Schalke).
In the current team, you might take a look at their current goalie Tomás Vaclík (Petr Cech's heir in the Czech NT), Taulant Xhaka (Granit's big bro), Birkir Bjarnason (the topscorer of Iceland at the Euro), Omar Gaber (another Egyptian star player), and Mohamed Elyounoussi (still a bit hot and cold, but definitely an interesting prospect).

Re: Champions League 2016-17 | Group A
Going to be an interesting game. Normally, PSG would walk this... but with a new manager, drastically new tactics and both Di Maria and Cavani being off form... they're unsettled.
PSG is in 7th place in Ligue 1 after 4 games with 7 pts and 6GF/4GA ratio. They're just not scoring and look generally disorganized.
What is with Spanish managers and this whole false 9 crap? Just have the central striker play like one ffs.
