Just watched the ending because I was desperate lol.
Great storytelling tbh considering the build with the low blow.
I watched the rest of the PPV now lol.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
Watched it in full now, actually enjoyed it lol.
Some general stuff.
Women's match was really good, Alexa looking like Harley Quinn lmao and Becky won so can't complain.
Really like the Usos as heels, I never liked them and always called them PlsGos lol but this heel turn I can get behind.
A new look, a new way of acting in the ring and the trash talking while they stomp away is probably more like them the forced high flying crowd pleasers they were before.
Surprisingly enjoyed Miz and Dolph which I expected to bore me silly but was good, happy that Miz won with all the great character and mic work he's been cutting recently.
Please WWE don't job him out in non title matches all the *bleep* time, it devalues the belt ffs. Obviously I doubt that's going to happen sadly.
Bray and Kane was good also, annoyed that Kane won but at least it was due to an RKO and it sets up the feud they had planned from the beginning.
Great to see Heath Slater gets his moment and win the tag titles, was surprised it was clean and was expecting American Alpha to cost the Usos but the right people won regardless.
Also I would like to see Usos feud with American Alpha for a while and have the titles be against somebody else, firstly the aforementioned teams don't need the titles to feud obviously and it builds the division.
AJ and Ambrose was great, especially because they were consistent with the built storyline! Great ending from a storytelling point of view and interested to see where all this goes.
Solid PPV with solid matches, booking and storytelling. This shouldn't be that hard but apparently it is.

I'm guessing American Alpha will feud with The Usos while Slater/Rhyno deals with Breezango/Vaudevillains. I hope Luke Harper comes back and teams with Rowan.

Hopefully.
I would actually like to see Luke Harper repackaged for a singles run tbh. They could do a lot worse than build him up to be a credible contender to the Miz and lord knows SmackDown needs to build up it's lower mid card.
Wouldn't mind them doing the same thing with Tyler Breeze either tbh but I quite like Breezango.

Watched the PPV live, didn't expect it to be that good, even the pre match between Corbin and Crews was fun lol.
Only complaint is that Wyatt lost against freaking Kane, this hurts his (already damaged) credibility even more.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
On Bray it definitely sucks but there's a few reasons why it's very easy to turn him around.
1. He's 10 years younger than AJ Styles
2. He's ridiculously talented
I don't get worried about guys like that really, when ever it comes time to put the rocketship on him it will turn around very quickly.
Remember just after Mania when they turned him only for him to get injured? he looked like a *bleep* million bucks and every report suggested he was getting a push and then plans changed because of injury.
Also he still gets great reactions despite the losses, it's not like most situations where the crowd just stops giving a shit they still love him.
So when ever they decide to actually stop doing this crap it won't take much to turn him around, my personal hope is the end of the year ends with Ambrose/Wyatt feud where there's a double turn.
It's the best case scenario for all involved.

I do agree that one piece of good booking can turn it around, but he shouldn't be jobbing. He should be winning.
He calls himself a 'god' yet loses every match. They are ruining him ffs.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
Ryback has been unable to go by his former wrestling name since leaving WWE, but that's something he's trying to change.
On an episode of his podcast that was released on Monday, Ryback said that he was attempting to change his real name to his wrestling identity.
“It’s not uncharted territory, but it kind of is too in a way. I legally went and changed my name to Ryback, for many reasons, one of which it was one thing that I did not own, and I created and I used before my time with WWE.
And it is something that is associated with my brand and who I am that I am very proud of. So, I went through the proper steps in Clark County in Las Vegas. And it cost a little bit of money, and I go in front of a judge September 1st. But when this airs, you know, hopefully everything is approved and I would be known as Ryback Alan Reeves moving forward.”
As of now, it isn’t known if the attempt was successful. He still goes by “The Big Guy” on Twitter and is still being advertised under that name for his wrestling appearances going forward.
Ryback said the name change was something he felt had to be done because it wasn’t fair that wrestlers spend so much time in one place and then can’t use their brand and identity when they leave. He claimed there’s a big difference in being able to advertise himself as “The Big Guy” Ryback rather than just Ryan Reeves.
On the podcast, co-host Pat Buck noted some of the problems he’s had as a promoter where WWE and other companies have aggressively sent cease and desist letters over advertising material that featured wrestlers who used to work for them.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
Paige's WWE future is said to be up in the air right now, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. While also dealing with injuries, she is still serving a 30-day suspension for her first violation of the WWE Wellness Policy and is under contract until 2019 but there has been a lot of heat over her relationship with Alberto Del Rio, and other issues, leading to speculation on her not coming back.
We noted last week via MLW Radio's "MSL & Sullivan" podcast that WWE's Mark Carrano approached Paige and Del Rio individually and harassed them about the relationship. It was indicated that the office wanted them to end the relationship, which is why they were split up in the WWE Draft. It was also reported that the company threatened to fire Paige if she didn't break up with Del Rio.
The Observer reports that WWE is denying the story - the harassment to Del Rio and Paige, and the threat to fire her. Apparently there is also a claim going around that Del Rio called Carrano on the subject but Carrano just went silent during the conversation.
For what it's worth, Paige has now retained legal representation and there's speculation on if she will go after WWE.

I was just thinking about this and wondered what you all think
I have a feeling the end game with this AJ title run is he loses to Cena at Mania for Cena to equal Flair.
Not sure how i feel about it tbh

I hope something like that happens. Cena deserves his 16th and it doesn't matter who is at the end of it.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
Oh i agree and tbh it's probably going to be the most meaningful way of doing it seeing all his best feuds are retired or left, just don't see what else is there you can do on the roster to make it feel meaningful.
At least there's a story here too.... I'm just a fanboy so lol, although if we get to that point it will mean both guys are massive deals in the company so there's that.
Also Cena going over again will feel weird to most people, even though i agree the moment is justified.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
AJ would have a lengthy title run and a WM main event. Cena would get his 16th title. The storytelling and the match quality would be high.
I wouldn't have a problem with it
Though I suppose you could argue that the WM main event should be given to a younger guy so as to elevate them.

Why Mania?
Let him have that moment at Survivor Series or something.
This is the time for him to put people over. Wouldn't make sense for him to attain glory yet again at the biggest stage and a against a relative newcomer in AJ for that matter.

Yea their feud was amazing. The match at summerslam is one of the best match in WWE history IMO.
They can build another feud on a bigger scale at WM.

Because of the moment of equaling Flair really, they are not going to give him that at any PPV.
I mean i understand what you are saying i just don't think they are going to have that moment of equaling Flair at any other PPV.
Honestly i'd rather they do what you say lol, AJ then wins at back at Mania. But i don't see that happening tbh i will admit that's major Fanboyism on my behalf.

Survivor Series is a pretty huge PPV in itself though. Cena winning yet another WM main event would be so incredibly boring. I mean I understand if it's a non-title match but there has to be some serious against the odds shit or something so that Cena winning it at Mania would be a great story other than the fact that he'll equal Flair's record.
The way WWE have portrayed and continue to portray Cena over the years, it's like winning the belt is piece of cake for him just that he hasn't participated in championship matches in recent times.
I still think the WM main event should involve Brock Lesnar no matter what anyway.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
That's true
Suppose it depends how it's built and what the storyline is, the only reason i mentioned this one in particular is because they already have a 2 month feud built up.
So the storyline is already in place and now you have AJ calling himself " the face that runs the place " and wearing Cena's never give up band.
Obviously at some point Cena is going to come back and with AJ champion and the feud already established he's obviously going to beat him at some point.

One way you could work around is to have the Universe Championship (ffs that name) be the ME at Mania, and have AJ/Cena lower down on the card. That match wouldn't need to be the ME to draw, and the other match can be contested by two younger guys.
