I do miss the La Liga banter.
Villareal also have a sort of tough opening fixture. You never know what Granada has in store for you. Sevilla, Barcelona, Valencia and Atletico should win their opening matches.
The best league in the world is coming back. Yay.

A tough fixture on the first day? Perfect.
Madrid need to start off strong this time. been some time since we hit the ground running. I expect triumph.
If I have any wishes in regards to the upcoming season, I hope La Liga Refereeing quality improves. Don't like bad calls regardless of who benefits from it.

FFS
Match going fans OFFICIALLY treated as extras for the TV broadcast, subject to be reseated and relocated to other stands for the cameras. Written down black on white.
This is absolutely outrageous.
This is *bleep* unbelievable.

Re: La Liga Discussion 2016/17
Perez knows what he is doing
When former United fans in the better parts of Asia see the game between Getafe and Espanyol and how full it is in the stands they will consider making the jump to support either of those two Castilla teams aka more Madrid fans
Perez is a genius
Na seriously nobody wants to watch a game where there is only a handful of fans. It really puts you off watching the game. I like ot more when its full but instead of relocating the fans they should ask the concerned parties to shrink their stadium imo

Re: La Liga Discussion 2016/17
Hala is right and Perez is genius. When I watch football matches I am in a different mindset if the stadium is or appears to be full on TV. Match is more entertaining and i'm more willing to watch it.
I don't agree with penalizing teams with fines for it. But, they should give teams more TV Money for attendance and complying with this rule. Also by giving more TV money for attendance it incentivize lowering season ticket prices to get more fans to the games. However, I know Spain doesn't have the same match attendance culture as compared to Germany or England. And most people are Madrid/Barca bandwagons anyways instead of supporting their local/provincial La Liga team

Re: La Liga Discussion 2016/17
as far as i know, barca season tickets always sell out.. but only get full attendance (of season tickets) rarely, in big games like derbys or classico etc.
barca never really seemed to care because well yeah we got paid already, full or not the money was there.
many casuals or visitors complain of the expensive tickets despite the stadium not even being full so hopefully this does somewhat help that situation.

An empty stadium is a big turn off to me. Reason why I can't enjoy Serie A games.

Re: La Liga Discussion 2016/17
La Liga could honestly do with more sanctions. People want to go to the match but often times the prices for tickets are too expensive.
If this helps bring the price of tickets down it could only be a good thing.
Also it is pretty embarrassing when stadiums are visibly empty.
